Almost a year after the highly celebrated publishing of the first MagicDeathEye plugin, it is now time to present the “bigger brother” of Ian Sefchick’s first creation to the world: meet MagicDeathEyeStereo, a tube compressor with an integrated EQ circuit designed especially for all your mastering needs. We have taken everything we’ve learned from the first version and created a true emulation of what can only be described as a very fine piece of audio hardware. While similar in their overall signature sound, both products have their own dedicated areas of expertise: the “mono” version (well, not actually mono in plugin format) more on individual tracks, the stereo version to glue the whole mix together, with an even smoother compression curve, and lots of little goodies that will help you finalize your mix. The stereo compressor is two mono compressor circuits with some extras designed for mastering and buss compression duties. This new version has an added EQ section. There are two (boost only) bands with two frequency selections each. The EQ is worked into the Variable Mu tube gain structure. This means it is not before or after the compression section, it is within it! The EQ circuit is inductor based and has wide curves for giving program material that “little something”. There is also a two frequency low cut for tightening up out of control bass. The boost of the bands can be 5dB or 3dB split between 5 steps. I spent a lot of time shaping this EQ mastering everyday and fine tuning the components on the weekends. It sounds absolutely fabulous!}

What TF? Wasn’t this supposed to be a mastering compressor that you can load wavs on to to get the compressor to do its work? It’s only for phone mic. Utterly useless, refund required as this is NOT useful like other compressor apps such as Lurssen.

Not finding much use for it. It has its own flavour, but it ain’t for me. It worked great on only 1 on my projects so far, saving a mix when nothing else seemed to work. The cpu consumption is high, so it is always the last thing I try. Overpriced.

Don’t get me wrong.. BEST compressor on the iPad on my eyes (Been producing on iPad since 2012). The CPU though... I know it’s not easy to do but can y’all try to make it not so taxing on CPU? I even use just one instance of it on an aux so I can just send all my other tracks to it and it quickly starts to slow down/crash my sessions. I’m in beat maker 3 and auria btw.

Yet to use it but it won me over, having the developers previous apps, I was just about to chance the mono ( not so ) version and this turned up. I wont use it until needed and I will return my verdict. I chose it over all the similar priced Pro apps available. Five Stars out of trust. I prefer outboard apps to look like the hardware they emulate. I would like to see more of the developers products in iPad apps.

Incredible. The single channel version was a revelation and now this bus compressor puts serious quality mixing & mastering on the iPad format. People may get sticker shock but this isn’t a “regular app”. It’s no bird game for .99cents. This is a serious music production tool on par with the best desktop plugins. I’ve bought every DDMF AU app and would love to see them bring TheStrip to iOS as well. Highly recommended.
