Tried out this app for this first time today and there is a lot that I really like about it. Verb conjugation has always been the hardest thing for me to study in my quest for mastering Japanese because it’s not the kind of thing that you can just learn the rules and then easily apply. There are just too many verb types and verb forms that then connect to too many different verb endings/modifiers to keep things straight. It really requires a lot of drilling to internalize everything. This app has great flexibility to create a ton of different tests to drill any specific conjugation you want to work on, while also allowing you to adjust other variables like: vocabulary level or lists used, # of questions, multiple choice or direct input, and characters shown (Japanese, hiragana, romaji, English meaning). These functions are absolutely great, even if it means the user needs to take some time creating and refining test parameters. The elements of the app that could use some refining are mainly to do with aesthetics. The font size is really hard for me to read, so I wish that was adjustable. Also, the multiple choice functionality is kind of useless because it seems to select conjugation forms from the list of actual correct conjugations for each verb. It would be far more useful to have incorrect conjugations that are close to the correct form rather than other correct forms of the verb that are clearly other meanings than the desired answer. However, this would obviously require a lot of additional programming and work, so I understand why it was done the way it was. But again, this means the multiple choice option for tests isn’t going to really be helpful. In the end, this is a great app and I would be happy to pay far more than the asking price, especially if I could make the font bigger so I don’t have to squint so much.

The app includes customizable tests for JLPT1-5 vocabulary (verbs and adjectives) conjugation. Highly recommended!

Excellent app overall, best way to practice most of the major verb conjugations for Japanese. I like the wide selection of verbs and recent addition of adjectives. My only minor gripe is it sometimes inaccurately processes an “enter key” button on the Japanese iPhone keyboard as “correct” even when nothing was inputted. (Typically if you press quickly twice in a row) ************************UPDATE********************************* Seems like my minor grip above was fixed. (YAY!!!!!) (Updated to five stars :) :) :) :) :) ) Just want to reiterate, absolutely awesome app for drilling conjugations, definitely worth it, especially at the price it’s going for. It has helped solidify the manipulations of verbs needed in a way that only lots of practice can. (I only wish the developer had similar apps for Spanish and Korean.... ) Side note to the developer: There is probably a market niche for an app similar to this one, but that drills creating Japanese grammar constructions (as listed from, say, certain Japanese grammar dictionaries that shall remain unnamed) and corrects incorrect formations. I, for one, would be willing to pay a premium for such an app, were it to exist. Anyway, just an app idea, Dear Developer. :) Thanks for listening. :D

I’ve been wanting a way to drill verb conjugation for a long time and this is perfect!! Pick one or more verb tenses, a level (so many options!) and a batch size. And then when you are done, great stats on your session! I’m sad that it took me so long to find this app!! You can choose tenses with a similar stem or different, just hone one form, or really mix it up. This has been so helpful for really solidifying the rules. There are simple, clear explanations for each form in the lessons section. Then when you are drilling, if you make a mistake the help pop-up repeats the information from the lesson but also puts it in the context of that specific verb. To me, that is the most genius part of this app. Oh, and adjectives too - but I’m still afraid of them :-) Maybe soon... Great app!! Thank you!!

Great app for practicing verbs that I come across. But if I could save those verbs to later make a test out of, that would be amazing! For example, if I were getting a conjugation wrong, I would like to be able to practice it again at some point instead of hoping I’d randomly come across it on a quiz! Thank you!
