The reliable light meter
Description (

Designed by a photographer for photographers, focused on RELIABILITY and PRECISION for digital and analog photography. • Extended sensitivity as low as -2/-4EV (dark scenes) • Two different convenient interface designs. • Incident and reflected light metering modes. • Save exposure data. • f/Tools connection. • Independent calibration for the two metering modes. • Independent selection of aperture, speed, ISO and exposure compensation with 1/3 resolution. From 4 hours to 1/8000 sec., aperture from 1.0 to 512 and ISO from 0.8 to 6400. • Automatic priority for aperture or speed. (Automatic Av and Tv modes). • Automatic ISO or locked ISO options. • Point metering in camera view. • Maximum aperture limited by the selected lens. • Calculate the average of any number of measurements you want. • Read the exposure data of any photo from the gallery. • Calculate hyperfocal distance for 5 memorized lenses. Which also blocks maximum aperture. • Memory for 5 lenses with maximum aperture, focal length and film/sensor size for calculating hyperfocal distance and aperture. • Hyperfocal distance also for infrared light. (IR button) • Exposure value EV on an analog scale or right up front. • On 3.5 " displays preset lens buttons tilting the device or tapping at the bottom. • Be advised that accurate incident light reading needs a diffuser attached to the front camera. Without the diffuser still can be used but think about it, it will be a reflected reading taken with the front camera. I'm an independent photographer/designer/developer and am very grateful for your support. Trying to do the best lightmeter app ever, a lot more to come. You can ask for any improvement and I'll be happy to help. This app is constantly reviewed and improved because it is my tool, if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to contact me by email at davidquiles@me.com Thank you! David Quiles}

Tested this app with my film SLR built-in meter. The readings from the app are consistent with my camera’s readings, both indoor and outdoor. My camera’s centre-weighted meter tends to underexpose in high contrast situations. With this app, I can tap on the area of the frame I want to meter. Highly recommend to those who are using film slr and manual vintage cameras.

I’ve been using this app for many years now and I still find it very useful. Thank you

I’ve been using this for 4 years on and off when I’m out shooting my manual film cameras. I’ve never had a bad exposure metering with this app! I’ve compared its metering with other in camera dslr’s and vintage light meters and it’s never been off a half stop at most, which is never an issue with post processing. I love the details with being able to have presets for different lenses and while I don’t use the hyper-focal distance readout too often it’s super handy when you do need it. For anyone wanting something quick to check metering they need not sleep on this gem!

A very well thought out, usable app. The resemblance to an old style physical meter you held in your hand is not only on the surface. The visual elements all work and make this tool eminently usable. My personal way of working is very old school . I want to point the meter, and have the reading for exposure. Because of that I can comment only that used in that way this app is perfect. I really have no complaint about any aspect of it for that kind of work. In promo The ability to zoom and touch the very spot you would like to measure is quite useful and is probably the only feature that I find useful after simply taking a general reading or an area reading off of an illuminated surface. But that’s me. I did look at some of the other features, but they are not elements by myself for use. I do have the sense, taking a general look at things, that they would be as well thought out, intelligently designed, and usable as the part that I use.

Checked it with my digital camera after thinking the measurements were off and they wete WAY off. Unfortunately I only ckecked after taking a few analog shots with expensive film, all of them are black (from underexposure.

The only digital thing I use when I shoot. Accurate and flexible.

Also happens that I have to accompany my camera for accuracy

This really has turned my photos to the better. I had been using an old light meter that has lost its accuracy resulting in terrible dark negatives. This app was well worth the small cost.

Competes with my other light meters. Saves the day when one is not in hand. With that said it pretty accurate.
