I use this every day. You can adjust page colors & lines on the fly, customize your toolbars, so many powerful tools. It does take time to learn but it's worth the effort.

Unparalleled features, but the ux is fairly incomprehensible. Give it a week and you’ll get it, but it’s tough. Loving it now!

ZoomNotes really has everything I could ask for in a notes app. I’ve started incorporating it into my school life and daily life for a variety of features offered. My only real gripe comes with using the Apple Pencil pro’s squeeze mechanism. It open and closes the tool menu just fine, but sub-menus you opened do not close upon squeezing the pencil pro. This isn’t the worst thing, but it just feels like they should close with the main tool menu.

I will admit it took me a while to understand how this app works. I am still learning. But once you start to get the hang of it..... it is awesome!! I have no complaints what so ever. I would love however to see some metallic and or glitter inks, I would love also to see a pc version. I do all my planning on this app. I don’t take notes. Update unlimited zoom no longer works and I don’t recommend this app if you want that feature

I lost months of work & had to start from scratch I got to a certain point & today lost everything again after it crashed for the 100th time just today. I had my work on auto backup & thought I was covered . I went to re import my back up but the app backed up my file to the time my documents disappeared so once again I’ve lost everything. I love this app when it works but I’m freaking sick of losing my work & having to started over . I won’t be recommending this app & won’t be renewing my sub because In my experience it’s not dependable.

I have been using the app for close to two years, and it’s a great tool. My main use case is using the whiteboard mode to create nonlinear notes (so-called mind maps) supplemented with extended notes written in a much smaller size. Below I will be listing some of the features that I use every day and I love, and some others that frustrate me and I wish were different. Things I love: - Infinite zoom (or at least I didn’t find the limits in practice). Most other apps like Concepts or Freeform will limit the actual minimum and maximum zoom level. - Infinite size (notice that you have to choose “whiteboard” or “blackboard” paper). - You can even insert documents within documents, which helps maintain large amounts of information neatly. - The performance is surprisingly good even when the canvas becomes huge. I have one with 20.000 strokes, and it is still perfectly usable with smooth writing, zooming and navigation. - Private: No data is collected. - Nice settings that facilitate working with the zoom, like the ability to set the stroke thickness to scale proportionally with the stroke, so the drawing remains identical but larger or smaller. Unlike other apps where the drawing resizes but the stroke thickness stays the same. Another one is that you can set the tool’s thickness to scale with the zoom level, keeping its apparent size constant for that zoom level. For example, if the thickness is 5 pt and you double the zoom, the thickness doubles too, so visually it appears unchanged at that zoom level. This feature allows you to zoom in and write notes with a legible stroke thickness without manually adjusting it, then zoom out and continue writing. - Black mode that follows the device’s dark mode. (However, it doesn’t refresh unless you toggle that setting again or you quit and reenter the app—please, developer, fix this!) - The file management system is efficient and versatile, enabling nested folders, displaying a miniature preview of each drawing as its document icon, supporting multiple sorting options, allowing title- or content based searches (although the OCR isn’t that good, but at least it’s there), etc. - It lacks fancy writing or drawing tools, but it has the basic covered. And the first pen tool is pretty nice and works great with the pressure sensitivity. - Nice options to export and share your documents as a regular PDF, vectorial PDF, image formats, proprietary format, etc. The app is very complete, and I have just mentioned the tip of the iceberg—as I said, I wanted to prioritize things that I use all the time over things that came in handy from time to time. On the other hand, what I find frustrating is basically related to the interface being cumbersome. I will mention some of these: - The transformation menu lacks gestures to rotate using your fingers or changing the size with a pinch gesture. If you want to reflect something, you have to look into an obscure place in the interface to find an option to do so. It would be more intuitive if dragging the box past its edge vertically or horizontally flipped the selection accordingly. - The Lasso tool could be visually improved to enhance usability. For example, the Lasso in Concepts draws a selection line with a real-time shadow that shows how the loop would close if you lift the Pencil. In other words, you can see in real time the area formed by connecting the starting and final point, making it quicker to adjust your selection on the fly. - The object management becomes cumbersome when dealing with complex documents. For example, seemingly close objects (text, shapes, etc.) can actually overlap in reality, so that selecting one object often results in unintentionally selecting multiple objects. The software does have a grouping feature to combine objects and a layer management system that are both helpful. But perhaps it could be improved, although it doesn’t seem straightforward. Perhaps it could implement an automatic layer assignment feature that optionally segregates objects by type (shapes in one layer, text in another, etc.), together with a Lasso tool that has smarter options such as allowing you to either select the objects in the current layer or all the layers. These are just ideas, as I can see it becoming even more complex if not carefully implemented. - There are still some bugs when you write and the document does strange things, like moving and making the strokes appear in another position. Although fortunately these occurrences are less frequent compared to the past. Again, the list could go on, but I preferred to focus on the little things that I use all the time and that would improve my user experience significantly. I must also say that it took me months to finally be familiar enough with the interface to personalize it to my liking, and that helped. Overall, it is a great and pretty unique app, although it has potential yet to improve its interface and user friendliness. The price is a one-payment that is more than reasonable, and it even has another version called “ZoomNotes Lite” that allows you to try it and unlock what you need. So, I definitely recommend giving it a shot!

ZoomNotes just keeps getting better and better. The developer keeps adding new functions. I love that we continually get more options and don’t have to pay a monthly subscription fee like most other apps charge. I would suggest becoming a part of the Facebook group as everyone there is very helpful with learning all the functionality. Ed, the developer, is very helpful and quick to respond if you are having issues using the app. Ed is amazing!!! I would give this app 1000 stars!!!!!
