It’s got a lot going for it, even though it’s essentially a two layer graphics tool. It has limited tools, but can produce great results with planning and patience.

There are different flavors of photo editors out there and this is my favorite for getting creative with images, adding text, or blurring out backgrounds or unwanted objects etc. I originally discovered this app in search of something I could blur and or smudge things out with like on Photoshop. It was exactly what I was looking for plus some. I went pro pretty soon after trying it. I think it came in a bundle for a good price with like 2 or 3 other apps that I honestly barely ever used. Im not sure if I even still have those. I use the stock iPhone editor for enhancements and making photos look nice. But when I want to get creative, I have/had like 9 other apps I have tried and could use, but this is the one I always end up using. The rest are a waste of space for real. I would (and do) recommend this app to anyone looking to draw on a photo, make illustrator or photoshop like changes, blur or censor something, or add creative text or any other creative touch within this apps ability. If this app is ever abandoned and becomes obsolete, I will be very unhappy. Unhappy because I know of no good alternative and I will miss the fill textures/patterns.

I used YouDoodle app for quite some time. It’s an amazing editing, and there’s none like it. What I don’t understand is what’s the difference between the free version and the pro version? Everything is the same. I don’t see any difference or upgrades. To whoever find’s this review: GET THE FREE VERSION.

[ALERT TO THE DEVELOPER] i don’t know what could have happened, but you doodle pro refused to open on my iPhone 13 just now. my most previous use was about 6 months ago. it seems to be working as expected after a quick delete/re-install. so, i thought i’d mention it here for the benefit of other users who might experience the issue & to let you know, as well. i’ve not changed my rating nor my prior review & i probably never will. i am grateful for your continued work & loyalty to your app store customers. thank you & namaste🙏🏻 someone showed me you doodle! i bought my ipad pro & apple pencil in 2018 after just a few months of playing with the app on my phone. seriously, i was the kid that nearly failed art classes growing up. 5 yrs with this app plus the addition of a dslr & i feel like i can legitimately legitimately call myself a “graphic artist”. “pro” tip for everyone struggling with having only 2 layers: build all your little pieces individually, save them to your sketchbook, & then layer them into your final product. i wish i could post some examples of my work here in my review. i will always recommend you doodle to anyone that will listen!

This is a VERY well thought out app that offers many useful features. It works how you “think” it should work, unlike many graphics and photo editing apps. Many apps like the Affinity photo editing app could learn a “lot” from this app. Affinity does exactly the opposite to what you expect it to do, leaving you scratching your head with confusion. So, do the RIGHT thing and purchase this app, you certainly won’t regret it. Within 10 minutes I achieved EVERYTHING I wanted to do with my image, with NO previous knowledge or the need to follow a help guide or do an extensive course👌 A totally recommended app for your iPad, works perfect with the pencil too 😃

I have been using the pro version of this excellent design app for years now. If you find Photoshop confusing, this app helps you get acquainted with design tools in a more intuitive way. If you work with AI art apps, You Doodle will help you mock-up ideas to share with your AI prompts. Instead of fine-tuning your prompt, you can use your own creation to do the heavy lifting. You Doodle is a lifesaver for those of us who want to add eye-catching graphics to social media. Templates are available for all major platforms, so you get the right size without fail. Finally ,you can make better stickers for messages, because this app lets you add captions, which the iOS app doesn’t allow yet). Just enable the app in your Messages extensions. Simple as that. Thanks to the app creators for this affordable, intuitive design gem.

I bought this to make flyers for my band but, although it mentions shadows in the description, it only means for text. I cannot for the life of me, find any way of putting a shadow under my logo! I had the free version then bought this but I gained nothing and lost a fiver :( Other than that it’s fine at other things.

Of the dozens and dozens of apps which allow both drawing and type in the image that I have used over the years, this is the only one that has consistently NEVER let me down. Every function works, every time - no bugs or glitches. It always is openable within other apps (not just from Photos or by starting fresh in the app itself). It always exports perfectly. And despite the somewhat playful name, it is surprisingly robust. With rare exception, it almost always meets my everyday needs. I rarely write reviews, but this app has earned every star. Thank you, developer for never abandoning the app but instead remaining committed to updating it over the years. Well done.
