Unjustified removal of photos by admins without any reasons given and refuse to respond to my messages to them. Subscription cancelled. Will maintain free account but refuse further support financially.

Good concept but it falls short especially when it comes to communicating

Don’t waste your time with this app. People are allowed to report you for “harassing” them simply on the fact that you aren’t their type. They will lock you out of your account and say that your account is only “suspended” when it’s actually removed from their app completely. They don’t understand what the words suspended and banned mean

This app is absolutely horrible and toxic. For many reasons. But I will focus specifically on the admin. I am someday who has struggled…wrestled…with the idea of gaining. So I went on and off Grommr several times. Probably because Grommr isn’t just an app for men of all sizes to feel appreciated (like Growlr). Grommr is an app that promotes eating disorders. Read that again. I don’t care how the “app developer” responds. This app promotes eating disorders, allowing members to freely post about wanting to literally eat themselves to death. So. Maybe that’s why I went on and off so much. One time when I rejoined, a member who was irritated by this on and off behavior…a member who I had never bothered…wrote me a hateful message about me returning and then blocked me so I couldn’t even respond. It GENUINELY hurt my feelings. It was a horrible message to open and read. When I came back on with a new account another time, I messaged him and told him I was back, and to not worry about having to block me, because I was blocking him first this time. It happened again after that. I will admit that that was childish on my part. But I never wrote him anything cruel or exceptionally unkind, just that I was back and blocking him so he didn’t have to go through the horrible task of blocking me, himself. And I certainly did not write anything as nasty as what the member originally wrote to me. Well the member reported me for harassment. And my account got suspended. I then wrote the admins to report the member’s original nasty and unsolicited behavior towards me. They reviewed everything. And kept my account banned for 30 days, leaving the other member free to use his account, with photos of me on his profile, encouraging online bullying from his own followers. I eventually got tired of waiting the 30 days, and yet still receiving push notifications about direct messages I was receiving but couldn’t read. So I decided to delete my account (for now), but I couldn’t do it in the app. So I emailed the admins, asking to delete my account for me, simply because I couldn’t do it myself. And instead of being professional and just deleting it, and allowing me to come back after the 30 day period was over as they could have done, I received a message that I was never welcome back to the app. Ever. That’s actually insane. And I’ll tell you what else is insane. One time a member on Grommr was posting his very dark thoughts for everyone to publicly see. I reported it out of genuine and deep concern for his safety. And the admins did…nothing. They didn’t even take down the post, let alone reach out to see if the member was ok. They ignored what looked like a cry for help. And I think that speaks volumes of their character. While on Grommr, I never had issues with anybody aside from this ONE member. Who, again, wrote an incredibly uncalled for and unkind message to me FIRST. He suffered zero consequences for this. Zero. And I have been banned from the app for life. Oh. And I should mention. I have brown skin. And the other member is white. Do with that, what you will. And Grommr. You have no business being so rude in your response. Or promoting eating disorders. All of your responses to these reviews, in fact, are SUPER rude, defensive and unprofessional.

It’s infuriating, can’t crop or edit a photo before it’s posted so I hope you don’t accidentally post something you’re not supposed to! Bc once you click on a photo from your camera roll it gets automatically uploaded. Whoever had this idea, should stop sharing their ideas. This app is a joke

You can see like 20 things posted until you need ‘premium’ when they don’t pay out money to the people who are making the business profitable. Genuinely just delete your app/sites. It’s all a scam.

I try typing in places in my state and it keeps showing me people from hundreds of miles away.

can you guys PLEASE fix your messaging system. I click on the message bar so I could type and I can’t even see what I’m typing because the keyboard is in the way, I can’t even move or scroll up. It’s really annoying.
