"This is an excellent app for teaching the fundamentals of algebra, especially for visual learners."- bestappsforkids.com. Algebra can be a tricky subject to master, but with the help of this free Hands-On Equations app, equations such as 4x+2=3x+9 become child’s play!  The original Hands-On Equations program, using physical game pieces, has already helped more than a million students gain confidence with algebra. Now that same, proven method is available virtually in the palm of your hand. A short, helpful introductory video by Dr. Henry Borenson, the inventor of Hands-On Equations, provides encouragement to the learner. The app works like this –  • An expert instructional video introduces each lesson. It is essential to watch this video! • Success with the two practice problems enables the app user to access the ten lesson exercises. • The unknown x variable is represented by a blue pawn on the digital screen while the constants by number cubes.  • In Lesson 1 the icons do not move. The student uses thinking or "guess and check" to solve the equations. • Beginning with Lesson 2, the student places the game pieces on the balance scale to represent the two sides of the equation.  • In Lesson 3, the student simplifies the equation by performing "legal moves" with the pawns.  • The student verifies his/her solution by resetting the problem to conduct the check.  • Feedback is provided to the student in the check phase of the problem. • Simple touch features are used to move the pieces around. • An intuitive and attractive user interface makes the app easy to use. This free version of Hands-On Equations is perfect for introducing algebra to kids in an entertaining and fun way. The app will boost their self-esteem and give them the confidence to take on even more complicated equations! The app has also found favor with adults who, prior to finding this app, never experienced success with algebra. Download this app today and see how much fun and how easy algebra can be! So that app was cool starting off then still at the beginning of lessons one I had a 3lb and 10lb on one side and a 6lb and pawn on the other so knowing 10 and 3 is 13 that mean to make the other side with the 6 into 13 is to add 7 but I was wrong so I screenshot and uploaded on google and google came up with 7 so sadly I can’t move on because of that

I’m on my second semester of algebra and was really struggling, I tried to use this app but it was so easy and it had stuff I had already learnt and it was so repetitive. I don’t have the patience to do stuff I already know and every time I tried to go to the next lesson it wouldn’t let me do it. The questions were so easy and it makes me do check steps for everything which is super annoying. It would be better if I could skip lessons and go to the one I really needed help with. That option would help because it could prepare me for my tests and it would refresh the concept and this app overall would be so much better and you could also add an option to write an explanation every time the problem gets wrong three times. These are some helpful tips for you I would actually like this app if these options were there.

I love this app because even though I already know how to do this algebra it is always a new surprise. I’m 11 and I love math so if your kid loves math and is good at all of their other math that they do and wants a new challenge I very much recommend this app. In my opinion good for ages 8-15 but anywhere close in there. It is fun! When I get to 7th grade I want to be in advanced classes so I want to make sure I am ahead of the game. This is a great app to make sure this happens! GO HANDS ON EQUATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it is FREE so that is also always a plus.

I haven’t rated an app in many years but this app is well worth my time. I haven’t taken Algebra since college MANY years ago. While looking for a app for my homeschooler, I ended up playing this myself, for fun! This method makes thing make so much more sense for someone who is a visual learner! Wow! Great job!
