As a strategy game enthusiast, I must give Realpolitiks a well-deserved 5-star rating! The game brilliantly blends geopolitics, economic-military management, and diplomatic maneuvering. Every decision feels like orchestrating real-world power dynamics—whether handling sudden crises, crafting decade-long national strategies, signing pivotal treaties, or launching precision sanctions. The immersion of controlling a nation’s destiny is utterly captivating! What truly amazed me is the dynamic event system and its realistic historical logic—refugee waves, energy crises, regime changes... Each event challenges players’ strategic foresight. I even used the game to simulate real-world geopolitical scenarios, only to discover how deeply the developers understand political mechanics! My only regret is the lack of a Chinese localization. While playing in English is possible, constantly translating policy texts and event descriptions disrupts the flow of strategic planning. China has a massive community of players who adore deep strategy games—if the developers could add Chinese support, countless more players could fully appreciate this masterpiece! I sincerely urge the team to consider this thriving market, allowing Chinese-speaking players to seamlessly enjoy this intellectual battlefield!

March 2025 Bring Realpolitiks 3 to iOS (skip Realpolitiks 2 - it’s not good from YouTube reviews) RP3 seems to addresses some of the issues reported throughout the years. Though, I’m a massive fan of RP1. I look forward to RP3 Juju please, get you a better publisher, fulcrum is doing a lousy job putting RP ip into the limelight. —————————————— Review Update - Feb 20, 2025 Still a fun and engaging game—especially given today’s political climate. It naturally draws more intention from the player, making you think just a little harder about your moves. Real-life politics aside… Once you understand the mechanics, this game becomes incredibly rewarding. Unfortunately, from what I’ve seen in YouTube videos, Part 2 shifts away from what made the original so compelling. That’s a shame, because the original design had something powerful—an elegant expression of ideas through its mechanics. The designers and devs clearly had strong creative chemistry and a bold vision. You can feel it in how the systems interact and the choices you’re asked to make. It’s just unfortunate that the game never fully evolved into what it could have become. ✅ The battle mechanics - excellent! Just needed a bit more fine tuning ✅ Scenarios - again, just needed more, with different variations of outcomes regarding the modifiers, they get repetitive. ✅ Block Mechanics - I loved it, but we needed more ways to conduct diplomacy.. while still keeping it simple. ❌ Diplomacy – A Missed Opportunity (& idea Below) The diplomacy system feels too barebones. There was real potential to expand it with lightweight, strategic depth—something like an engine-building card system but similar in UI to battle system in this game. Imagine a setup inspired by games like Race for the Galaxy, Dominion, or Ascension, where diplomacy cards are added to your deck dynamically. These cards could be tied to your nation’s evolving conditions—Active Policies, Economy, GDP, HDI, Population size, even Civil Unrest. As these fluctuate, so does your available hand. Cards might include actions like Trade Agreements, Tariff Wars, or Shared Research (which could speed up policies already in your queue). When you interact with other nations—each with their own decks—you’d play these cards in strategic exchanges, adding tension and a touch of card-battler flavor. It would’ve been a simple yet elegant way to make diplomacy feel alive, responsive, and full of intentionality. ———————————- 2022 Review: TL,DR: This is a premium product - BUY IT! Very Fun! ——— DETAILS: Lots of great gameplay out there on YouTube. Channels: • Many A True Nerd • Drew Durnill The reviews are there, same game for us iOS’ers. If you’re here, buy! This game worth the price. I am speaking to you grand strategy gamers. Noobs, this game is noob friendly, however, you may want to make sure this is what you want, use internet for that and google the difference between: 4x & Grand Strategy Games. This is a grand strategy game, and definitely on a lighter scale - while still carrying such beautiful grand strategy depth. DEVS: Font is waaay to small. (Please fix) Playing on iPad Pro 10.5 CHOOSING CONTINUE FOR A iCLOUD SAVED TUTORIAL: Loads take very long. Longer than normal. PC PATCH: Do we have that recent August patch from PC? BUGS IN TUTORIAL: I have no idea what to do here because instead of receiving directions in the mini pop up window, all I see is the following asset title I suppose: TUT_UNEMPL_P3_Mobile Also in World after 2020, I picked America, the universal military project, when you choose projects in bottom screen light bulb, I’m getting: PROJECT_TUT_P1_Mobile (its on the first page of the pop up window) There is also one for damaging Ukraine’s Reputation (Love you Ukraine!) As listed above, there’s a bunch of these text bugs, appearing inside some of the tech tree explanations or on their titles. So I have no idea, what is what. Dev, you will need to scour, it’s quite a few I’ve run across. I had to go to YouTube and find someone playing the tutorial so I could proceed (because I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for, due to the text typos) GAME PDF MANUAL: You need it, look at your reddit. This game has such potential, show them how to play “with pictures and arrows pointing within the pictures” not just a block of text. TUTORIAL NEEDS REFINEMENT: It’s a step in the right direction, but many deep in game concepts are missing, I’ve been using YouTube, but this should be in game - not require YouTube. CONTROLLERS SUPPORT FROM SWITCH FOR IOS? I do connect my iPad to my TV and play many game that way. I’m pretty sure there are many others. Will you offer mfi/Bluetooth controller support? MORE UNIQUE SCENARIOS? I will gladly pay for more content. You don’t have to go dirt cheap. This is a premium product. DEVS: You might want to (add some quality of life improvements with your DLC) making it worth the value proposition. Example, tweak some of the known bugs, fix some of the UI design.. etc. (of course within your budget)

March 2025 Bring Realpolitiks 3 to iOS (skip part Realpolitiks 2 it’s not good) Part 3 addresses all the issues I expressed in my Feb 2025 Review update. ————————————————- Review Update - Feb 20th, 2025 Still fun game. They just needed to fix many of the issues players have brought up throughout the years. What I can add from my experiences, is such a huge missed opportunity and that is… it gets to a point where there is nothing to really do, unless there is drama from a political adversary. Outside of that.. hit fast forward. Sid Meier has instilled in me, that Carrie’s through out all of my designs… There should ahead be interesting choices. We are pulled out of interesting choices, when foo o r a large swath of the game, there is nothing to do outside (fast forward forward) As I played, I started seeing the huge missed opportunities. More *meaningful domestic issues* that have substantial connective branches to the mini drama that leads to impactful outcomes. The simplistic domestic issues they currently offer (especially with the DLC) (conspiracy theory guy, mafia type organization.. etc) these are too trivial, not in the sense of game mechanics, rather… in the sense of purpose and meaningful impact, within the fabric of the mini drama story being presented and the whimper that is its ramifications. I stand some trivial added, but when majority are trivial, you diminish the psychology of interesting decisions.. an energy within the player (you never want to kill) keep it alive, and the show goes on. In real life… there are so many issues going on right now with politics, society, technology, weather, ideology… that much inspiration (even choosing lightheartedness) could had been done to improve this aspect and significantly increase the fun factor. Now in the year 2025… with the existence of Ai & LLM’s, this game studio can have their narrative designer, prompt the language model to come up with many scenarios inspired by recent politics, society, technology, weather, ideology issues. Then also have Ai create branches to these scenarios.. all the while keeping it, within the mechanics structure of the game design, therefore… not having to recreate new mechanics for each scenario. Soo much more can be done here. If I had the resources and team, I would had purchased this IP and the studio. The designers & the devs really had strong chemistry and vision here! It’s expressed beautifully in the mechanics and ideas presented… too bad it has not blossomed to where it can go. ———————————- 2022 Review: TL,DR: This is a premium product - BUY IT! Love this game on the PC, bought the mobile version but is unfortunately unplayable as it’s so laggy. Is there a solution?

Excellent strategy game. The game is very buggy. Will crash often. They didn't incorporate the pretty map version with detailed Terran and cities. Also a lot of poorly executed scripts. It's difficult to determine what happens sometimes as the game will just display the file name during an event in lieu of a description of the game event. So close to being a perfect app but they gave up on it unfortunately.
