Not all scales are created equal. This app allows you to break out of the limitations of equal-tempered scales and gives you freedom to tune the built-in keyboard in whatever way you want. Loaded with many presets and samples you can explore ancient scales, byzantine music, oriental vibes or configure your own scales. Have you ever wondered why we tune our instruments the way we do? They are usually tuned to an "equal-tempered scale", which divides the octave into equally spaced tones and semitones. This has become the most prevalent way of tuning the instruments in the west since the 18th Century. Today, musicians use this tuning system, and the scales based on it, without ever considering other ways. For example, in the Middle Ages European musicians generally used Pythagorean tuning, and today many traditional instruments in the Middle East and Asia are tuned according to regional systems and standards. Included features: ● Ability to tune each key in the octave individually (+- 100 cents). ● 35> High quality sampled instruments: From grand piano, violin and organ to oriental oud and kanun, to voices of a choir singing Ison voices. Many samples are polyphonic and have multiple velocity layers. ● MIDI In. Connect your External MIDI keyboard and play microtonal music. Tuning the individual keys is normally only possible on $1000+ keyboard! ● Many presets introducing lesser known western, byzantine and oriental scales. ● Ability to save your own scales and tunings. ● Entering directly frequency ratios, frequencies or cents. ● Shows on the piano keys where the scale starts and what keys are included in the scale. ● Changing the root key of a scale: all tuned keys are shifted correctly. ● Audio effects: reverb and compressor. ● And more…}

WorldScales isn't just an app — it's a true instrument for musicians seeking freedom and depth in scale exploration! I had reached out to El Kelfar and asked for the Hold Sustain from external keyboard feature, and to my surprise and joy, it was added in the latest update! This feature changes everything — the feel, the flow, and the expressiveness through MIDI is now on another level. El Kelfar listened to the users and proved that he truly loves what he does. It's rare to see such responsiveness and quality of implementation! If you're a musician, composer, or simply a sound enthusiast exploring tunings and scales, don't think twice — WorldScales is the ultimate tool.

This app is packed with features and is loaded with many helpful options and amazing settings. I am very pleased with this and it has come in handy for my purposes ever since I downloaded it. Many thanks to Kelfar Technologies for all of the hard work, diligence, and expertise that goes into creating such a useful tool.

Kelfar Technologies has raised the bar to the highest level with this app. As a Master-Chanter (“Protopsaltis”) of Byzantine Music and instructor of the psaltic art, this tool has become invaluable to me in various aspects of my field. First and foremost, it is an excellent aid in teaching the various scales and modes of Eastern Orthodox hymnology. The app is able to faithfully replicate the intricate microtonal intervals of the Byzantine scales, allowing the student to hear how tetrachords are “built” within the octal diatonic, chromatic, and enharmonic scales. In this respect, as a teaching tool, it is second to none. Second, this app produces a true accompaniment of the ison drone that is characteristic of Byzantine chant. Developed and digitized with recordings of human voices, World Scales faithfully produces a more authentic audio result than other similar tools available. I stress that HUMAN VOICES were used as the basis of making the sound output, and not by some other artificial “electronic” means. When properly transmitted through a high-quality speaker, the audio output of this app is the closest sound to a group of human “drone-holders” (i.e. “isokrates”) that one will hear in an actual Byzantine Choir. And third, although I am very hesitant yet selectively cautious in using this app in an actual church setting (the tradition of Orthodox hymnology allows only ONE instrument to be used in worship, and that instrument is the human voice), I do support its use in audio recordings and concert settings to help actual assistants and choir members in faithfully rendering the ison notes, which are the “decoration” to the melodic executions of the hymns. I applaud Kelfar Technologies in the development of this tool, and in its constant efforts to modify, improve, and further develop this app to make it the best of its kind. Thank you, Karim! Much continued success!
