The actually ear training components of this app have been worthwhile for me. However, the app is not yet well-designed. The exercises are designed in such a way that they are often tedious. For example, some exercises are designed for you to identify a series of notes where there is one skip and the remainder are steps in the scale. You might hear scale degrees 1-3-4-5-6, and then you are given a single option: 1. Yes ok—1. I'll give them that because we are orienting the user to the tonic. Now, 2 or 3? step or skip? Well, that was 3. Cool cool. Now, was the next one 4? Because that's your only option. Tap. 5? Tap. 6? Tap. In other words, there's a lot of tapping through with only one option. It's a test of patience as much as ear training. Setting that aside, I'm most surprised the app shipped without properly spelling the pitches and chords in the exercises. Sorry, F Major is not the V chord of A# Major. Having written music theory software, I understand that this is not trivial to do correctly. Still. Come on, son. The app is actively harming the user's understanding of the theory behind the ear training.
