This app is incredible if you are conducting a detailed research project. In fairness, that’s all I would use it for - it’s a specific use case, but it does it incredibly well. The ability to see all your highlights and notes from one document collected succinctly is invaluable. After all, when conducting research documents can be 100s of pages long with only 2 or 3 sections relevant to your work, so having those notes stored in one place as opposed to having to scroll through hundreds of pages is amazing.

How is it possible that it can be this bad? I can’t drag to save a bookmark without it highlighting the text and making the highlight irreversible. Incredibly aggravating. I’ve used this for years so this isn’t due to inexperience…

It’s a good app for research that gives us a lot of flexibility. It’s for someone who knows how to organise notes so his workspace doesn’t look like bin of everything. Dark mode is a deal breaker for me, I am returning to this app several times but each time when I am trying to work, light mode just burns my eyes… Otherwise, t could be a pleasure to work with this tool.

Most developers treat their early adopters with respect, but not these guys. They charged quite a bit for the pro version before the app had realized its promise. Then they offered utopian pricing when they added a few new features, and so on... Below is my review of the original pro version. The one thing that's changed is annoying new links to features one needs to spend more for. Can't do it as an independent researcher. --- The way this app is marketed and designed, I would have thought it would make an excellent PDF reader for academic texts, including ebooks, but I was wrong. First and foremost, navigation is a problem. If the text actually has built-in structure that LT can see, great. But even then, one has to click to see the outline, and the outline immediately disappears after one clicks. Moving around the document becomes extremely cumbersome that way. Worse, with no bookmarking feature or ability to create one's own outline, accessing unlinked endnotes while reading becomes frustratingly time-consuming. In theory, one can use the app's excerpt feature to create such navigational tools, but those are nearly as useless on a 9.7" screen. I can't see much improvement on a bigger screen either. Navigation should be separate from the actual processing of articles and books that this software was designed for. Maybe those who find LT valuable are not overburdened with poorly formatted texts without good internal links between note references and endnotes. I don't have this luxury. Long story short, the one app that seemed to offer a potentially large productivity boost on the iPad does more to frustrate than help me get work done. And it cost a fair bit to find this out.

This app is absolutely amazing, there’s one feature that I keep wondering if it’s ever gonna be included. When I try to upload image into the project as a document, the app only allows to upload one photo at a time, but what if I have about 20 or 10 or sometimes 50. I either have to convert those pictures into a pdf separately and then upload or I have to upload one image at a time for like 20times or how many so ever. It would be great if the app can allow us to select certain number of photos from the gallery to upload at one go into the project, that would just be a great additional feature, well I think that should’ve been a default feature by now. Never too late I would highly appreciate an update like that. Appreciate the “redo” option btw. Thank you.

I started using LiquidText primarily for handling medical literature, clinical guidelines, and research articles — and it has completely transformed the way I study and organize information. The ability to highlight, connect key ideas, and create visual mind maps directly from the text saves an incredible amount of time. As a medical professional, I often deal with complex information spread across multiple PDFs. LiquidText allows me to pull relevant snippets, link them conceptually, and build a clear visual structure of the topic. It feels like thinking and writing on a digital whiteboard, but far more efficient. I actually bought my iPad mainly for this app, and after just a week of use, I can confidently say it’s worth every bit. It’s intuitive, stable, and makes academic and clinical work so much more productive. Highly recommended for anyone who handles large volumes of reading or detailed analysis!
