Retro Pixel Art Mahjong
Description (
Characters: 910 of 4000
)
Leon’s Mahjong is a retro pixel-art take on the classic Mahjong solitaire — inspired by a bygone era, and built as a quiet rebellion against today’s mobile game industry. A Timeless Experience • 39 handcrafted boards — each with at least one guaranteed solution. • Available in 7 languages. • No forced retention loops. • No data tracking. • No internet required. • No ads. No popups. No video interruptions. • No in-app purchases — this is not free-to-play. • Priced like apps from 2008. • One-time purchase = iPhone, iPad & Mac. • Family sharing included. • All future DLCs will be free. This isn’t just a tribute to Mahjong — it’s a tribute to my late father, who introduced me to it in the ’80s. Now, my son Leon helped shape it as the game’s smallest (and loudest) stakeholder. Three generations. One love for games. I hope you enjoy playing Leon’s Mahjong as much as I enjoyed building it.}

The game is fine but the resolution and user interface is from Windows 3.11

I thought the game would be nice and clear but it gives me a headache looking at it! I didn’t even play one game, and have requested my money back!

Exactly what I was looking for! Other mahjong solitaire apps are too easy, barely requiring an ounce of forethought; just hunt, peck, hunt, peck, ad nauseam. On top of being terribly cute, Leon’s Mahjong offers actual puzzles that you *can* mess up by just mindlessly matching. That it also tells you exactly how many occurrences of a tile type to expect allows extra planning. I am currently recovering from hand surgery with limited options for how to spend my time. This has been a real boon, especially in the morning as I drink my coffee and wait for my meds to kick in. Hats off to the developer! I love the inclusion of an avocado tile :)

This game is a poor choice for seniors or anybody with failing eyesight. The tiles are not unique enough to spot differences, and I’m not crazy about the landscape-only game play. I’m glad it was only 99¢, so I don’t feel too bad about the purchase. I wish it was a little more like Vita Mahjong.

Totales Schrott! Veraltete schlechte Grafik, kaum was zu erkennen. Nervige Sound. Viel schlimmer als die Versionen mit Werbung, die nerven auch, aber nicht so wie denn Schrott. Sofort gelöscht. Geld ist weg umsonst. Nicht zu empfehlen!!!

The first glaring issue was, upon downloading, my screen froze in landscape mode. I powercycled and, then discovered that the game can only be played in landscape and the tiles are so small and blurry. I’d like my money back.

So many good decisions were made here. You are playing a game that stimulates only the parts of your brain that need it. A seamless “UX”, a simple UI, pure gameplay. I set the music to rain and thunder, then immediately jump in to look for those matches. Wonderful!

I’m having a lot of fun with this game, and I really only have two grievances: 1. It can be kind of hard to tell which pieces are blocked by other pieces due to a fairly uniform perspective, maybe some darker shadows could improve this, or some accessibility feature to add a slight shade to all blocked pieces. 2. A portrait mode would dramatically improve my user experience, I saw the developer was working on this back in December of last year, I hope they’re still working on it!
