The quickest way to see when to go outside. This beautifully crafted app and widget bundle shows forecasted clouds, rain, snow, wind, auroras, rainbows, and other weather phenomena in a comprehensive timeline that's easy to understand at a glance. Innovative features include: • Extreme weather warnings are shown directly on the timeline, so you can see exactly when the danger is expected — including thunderstorms, fires, hurricanes, flooding, and landslides. • Inline minute-by-minute precipitation forecasts show the next-hour conditions derived from radar stations. • Air quality forecasts combine local sensor readings to provide health guidance. • Our proprietary algorithm even predicts the chance of rainbows! Use the interactive map to request forecasts for any location in the world — including mountains, trails, lakes, and literally anywhere you place a marker. We take privacy seriously with NO ads, NO tracking, and NO third-party analytics. Weather Strip only stores location data on your local device, and it always uses approximate locations when requesting weather forecasts. Weather Strip also respects your data plan, with optional background app refresh that automatically learns your habits, and the ability to view your recent forecasts even when your connection drops. Weather Strip is completely free to try for two weeks. After that, a minimal subscription price helps us keep the service running. (Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.) Not all features are available in all locations. Forecasts are issued by Foreca and Apple Weather globally and by the U.S. National Weather Service (NOAA NWS) in the United States. Designed by data visualization researcher Robin Stewart to help everyone enjoy the outdoors.}

You have to use the chart to believe how good it is! The combination of texture, weight, contrast, and selective details really lets me “see” the day ahead with barely any attention, yet surfaces specifics when I need them. The widgets are equally as good, which makes them far better than any other weather widgets I’ve seen. However, the typography is a little plain, and (in my opinion) the perpetually-half-light-half-dark theme holds the overall experience back.

After using for three years, I still encounter a few bugs which makes me question validity of forecast, and I need to cross verify with other apps. Decided to cancel subscription. Too bad; the concept is good.

Very intuitive data visualisation, for me among the best weather app concepts out there. Everything on one screen without flooding me with figures, icons etc. I think the overall design has a nice feel to it, I really like it! But then there is the subscription. I‘m aware that Apple takes its share and that weather data costs, and I like to support indie developers – but both data providers (Apple, Foreca) offer their own weather apps for free, including radar and translations. So I find it hard to justify 18€ a year for this app, which I think is essentially a different (but imho much better!) skin for those two apps mentioned. However, I wouldn't mind 1€ per month if there was a German translation (maybe community-assisted via the poeditor website?).

After years of trying all kinds of weather apps this one really hits the nail on the head. This is by far the best way to demonstrate weather information and it makes me seeing my day and week in a glance so easy. Paired with a radar app this does everything I need it to do. Not often I leave a review but I felt the need here.

This visual design is simply the best way to see the day’s weather at a glance. And the developer continues to refine things. I also love the widgets.

It takes a couple of minutes to get used to the presentation, but I love how incredibly dense the information is in the charts. There’s really no other app that lets me have a widget where I can see everything I’m interested in about the weather all in one compact view.

This app is exactly the native app I once sketched out to build to reproduce the usability and information density of Weather Underground’s 10 Day forecast charts that for some reason no other weather app maker wants to provide. :rage: But I never got off my butt to build it and now I don’t have to! Happy to pay the annual subscription to cover data costs and support the dev!

This app is great, it would be perfect if it had a way to indicate visibility like apple weather. Please do this. :-)
