*** Featured by Shane Whatley - "Will let you flash any of your HomeKit lights.. and either set the light back to the original state… or set it to a new state after flash. Really cool stuff!" *** Featured on 9to5Mac.com - "as a dad of three, I need less noise in our house, so I am really enjoying using Signals for HomeKit" *** Featured on iMore.com - “create tons of distinct signals that cover scenarios like announcing dinner time, or letting someone know that they are taking a little too much time in the shower.” *** Featured on AppleInsider.com - "Our favorite tips and tricks for making the most out of Apple HomeKit" *** Featured on HomeKitNews.com - "save your lungs, and get this app" *** Featured on HomeKitHero.com - "clever way to get someone’s attention in your home" Communication at home takes many forms — we want more of the dinner-time conversations, but we could do with less of the loud knocking on doors, banging on ceilings, and shouting up stairs. If you have a HomeKit home, why not take advantage of it, and use your lights to help communicate? Introducing Signals for HomeKit, the best way to communicate in the home, without all the shouting. Signals works with any of your bulbs, switches or outlets with lights attached - have a kid who plays video games with headphones on? Just tap on their light to give it a few flashes. Take it to a new level with the Signals Plus In-App Purchase, and put some meaning behind your flashes: - Create a Time to Go Signal to flash the kids bedroom lights, and then set their night lights green - A Dinner Time Signal can pulse lights in the bedrooms and the office, and then set them to blue - Even setup a “GET DOWN HERE NOW” signal, to flash the kids’ lights red, and keep them that way! Trigger your Signals in multiple ways — in the app, with your voice or automations using Siri Shortcuts, or with our beautiful Widgets! Whether you have kids, or someone in the family with a hearing disability, Signals for HomeKit can help quiet things down, and keep the conversations face to face, rather than shouted through the house. Requirements - Any HomeKit equipped light bulb, switch or outlet. Switches or outlets must be configured with a light attached. HomeKit must already be configured. - Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 15 required. Usage Notes: - If you have a bulb or switch with a slow ramp/fade rate, try shortening this rate in the manufacturers app, if the flash isn't noticeable - if this doesn't work, please let us know at https://www.homemadeautomation.com/contact-us, so we can help find a solution!}

Something that Apple should make part of their home app

It crashes and acts very Strange some times. When you make shortcuts with this app it works so bad. Doesnt go back to previous state, and sometimes just picks a color. This is just not working as it should. Please get back to work. The app idea is great. Update oct 2024. Still no change. It shows wrong color and it doesn’t go to previous state. And it is not consistent in the flash and pulses. Still need huge work.

You cannot link signal into home or personal automation.

I really want to like this app, but I’ve bounced off it for a somewhat fussy reason. Imagine I have my lights at 25% white, and a strobe effect set for 80% blue. On most lights, colored light is much dimmer than white light. The way this app works, when the strobe kicks in, it will bring the lights up to 80% white first, then switch them to blue. This always creates a huge and startling flash in my house. I want to use the lights kind of like the visual equivalent of a chime, not a fire alarm. The app is a neat idea, but there’s no use case I can think of that is worth the panic/stress it induces.

I find this is a very useful app, as I’m diabetic and I can be signalled when it’s time to take my insulin.

When I want to flash my lightbulbs in the livingroom, only 2 or 3 of the 14 lamps actually flash. Definitely not worth the money. Even if it was totally free i would uninstall it. 2 stars for doing the effort

Signal claims to work with automations, but it doesn’t. I have no use for this application. I tried to get refund but was denied twice. I basically gave the developer a free 5 bucks.

I paid for the full version on the assumption that I’d be able to link signals to shortcuts which I could then trigger via HomeKit, I.e., flash a light when motion is detected, which the app’s instructions suggest is possible. Whilst I can trigger this in the signals app itself I am unable to trigger signals via a link to homekit, this means that whilst the idea is pretty good it does not really serve a purpose. If this functionality could be enabled I’d buy again and use it, but as it stands this is a bit gimmicky. Apple luckily refunded me for my purchase.

App does not work with my MacBook Pro and this was not clear before I purchased the app. App says ineligible for refund so this is now just a waste of money.
