Music notation is made simple with this shorthand system which puts chords into numbers 1 though 7 and streamlines the page into a simple and clean format. Forget about pencil, erasers and photocopy! This app combines technology with tried and tested methods; allowing users to create song charts with the ease and speed of pen and paper. For over 60 years, the Nashville Number System has been the standard for musicians in live performance, recording sessions, and teaching environments. The published book has become required reading in many of the most prestigious music schools, including Belmont, ETSU, Lee and Liberty University, while also being required reading for anyone when they get their first gig in music city. This innovative app brings the must-read instructional book by Chas Williams, with well over 50,000 copies sold, into our digital age by seamlessly allowing charts to be written on your digital device! Please give feedback of a 5 star review, or contact us directly. If you’re not happy with the app, we will issue a full refund of your purchase price (in exchange for not writing a bad review) and insure your issues are reviewed and fixed. You can keep your version and be notified when an update has been made. Thank you for your business. My name is Leland and I’m on the development team along with Chas. My personal email is nashvillenumbers1@gmail.com so you can contact me with issues or great musical stories! Chart Everything My Friends!!!}

I love this app a lot. The only thing I would like to do is be able to put songs in a set list. The online distribution says you can but I haven’t found it yet. Otherwise I choose this app over 1 chart

I almost never review apps, but just want to save somebody else from the headache. I was excited to see this app, as all the other notation apps can’t do the simple Nashville numbers charts that I find most helpful. I’m joining a wedding band and have to chart out about 60 songs. I’ve charted out about 30 of them so far, went back and checked a few of them earlier ones I did and saw that the app will randomly lose information that I’ve entered in. This app fail at the one and only thing that it needs to do: saving the charts that I write. I can’t trust this app, and will be requesting a refund. I’ve wasted hours going back and redoing charts that I have already written once, sometimes twice.

When you’re in a minor key and switch to letter chords, the 3rd, 6th, and 7th notes still show up as if it’s a major key. they don’t flatten automatically. Also, when you copy and paste a section in letter chords mode, it temporarily shows numbers until you click something. It would also be really helpful if you could add text notes to your charts. Hope they can fix these. it’s a great tool otherwise!

I have used this app for years and absolutely love it. This has not only allowed me to learn the Nashville Numbers system, but has made transposing songs so much easier! I used to use my own shorthand system, but this has been a great tool that has made charting songs way easier to do and manage!

Thanks for making this brilliant app to write number charts on my iPad! The only things I miss is the < push symbol so I can distinguishing between < for anticipated and > for delayed hits, and being able to type text comments on the chart.

This is a great app for making and modifying Nashville numbers charts. I believe it was created by Chas Williams who also wrote a great book about NNS. I’ve been looking for something that I could use for making session charts in my studio. This app seems to be able to handle many variations of chart notation, including adding your own markup and annotations. But the only thing I wish it had were more instructions. There’s a simple explainer for how to use the app but not enough explanation for the Nashville Number System or how to interpret the symbols. For example, it would be great if the instructions demonstrated less common chords and how to write them or interpret them. How do you create an augmented cord? How do you create a diminished cord? How do you create a bar with less than four beats or more than four beats? How to do you a push beat chord? Etc. Basically what does each symbol mean. If there are instructions anywhere I couldn’t find them and searching the Internet was no help. Thanks so much! Lij

The one star is not for their app, but for their website. I clicked on the tutorial section and the site had a virus. Stay away. Their site is not secure

I have been looking for an app that can help me write and transpose between nns and chord letters. Nashville Numbers app does exactly what I need 😁

They’ve made huge strides updating this app and cleaning up a lotta bugs and stuff. Right now my issue seems to be up retrieving saved charts. When I pull a chart from google drive or apple files apps, the nns app opens, but the song I tried to add isn’t there. NOTE: this seems to work fine when saving a chart to my iPhone, but it hasn’t been working on the iPad version of the app since the last update… hmm

Fixed not being able to import or share charts. Also fixed imported charts not displaying in the chart list. Imported charts will now be in an "Imported Songs" folder on the main screen

When enabling numbers to letters conversion, a chart in the key of E major was not displaying any of its chords. This has been fixed and the E major key should now display properly.
