app still in unusable condition after recent update. never gets past splash screen no matter how long you wait. website is also awful, cannot book tickets even with the book now button

I have been having a on going issue where the app won’t fully start and is stuck on the loading screen. I really do like the app and I plan out trips but I can’t do that when it’s just stuck on the loading screen when you start the app.

It’s a basic app. It used to work just fine. Now, since their “update” it doesn’t get passed the blue logo screen. The app itself never opens. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. I’ve done all the dumb human things to get this to work, but it doesn’t work. It’s insanely frustrating as I use the train a lot, and the website is hard to load on my phone too!

You can have business class tickets, with insurance, and they can cancel your train at the very last minute while you stand at the station, not offer any other train going the same location because they are booked solid, leave you completely stranded. Then you have to file a claim and try to get your money back from your destroyed trip which involved missing a funeral, and having to take expensive Ubers to get out of the station. Just rent a car and save yourself the absolute nightmare Amtrak will cause you.

I absolutely love traveling on Amtrak. This gives me and my friends a chance to sit back and relax and enjoy the ride and conversation without the hassles of driving. We do a lot of one-day trips to Chicago and this is the best way to do that.

Night worker are horrible. The station sign says they close at 12am but they don’t let anyone in after 11pm. The night workers don’t explain anything and completely ignore you. Specifically, the older black women, and I’m black myself. She seems to have a problem with anyone trying to figure out information on how the station runs. Horrible person and even more horrible service. She even called the cops on me because I wouldn’t leave until I had an explaination on why I was missing my train that I showed up 30mins early for?!?!? Again, a horrible person all around.

Awesome service - totally on time and relaxing, seats are comfy, a/c works well, I’ll travel on Amtrak again and again. Both coach and business class are great!!
