When I first I used this app I liked it but seemed to obsolete the long stand free use mode. Unfortunately when I started using this I was not a disciplined running. This year after training for several prior marathons it now surfaced Hal+ pay prompt. I wanted it to work as before and could not find a way to dismiss the prompt. Too bad. I originally used these plans printed from web over a decade ago. I will go back to using those same plans and entering them in my calendar. Fond farewell to limited free use version of Hal app tech.

I used the app previously with my old phone just fine, but upgrading to the iPhone 16 pro and now when I install the app I am blocked by the Hal+ purchase screen with no way to bypass to free mode

I ended up creating my own training plan in a spreadsheet, and I finished a 50k as desired. No thanks to Run With Hal. I was very disappointed with the inflexibility of the 50k training plan on Run With Hal, and I’m disappointed I spent $60 or whatever to get it. I was navigating an injury and there was no good way to pause, indicate a need for temporary drop in mileage, etc. Also, as a working parent of young kids, no good way to easily shift around rest days and run days. And no good way to adjust goal pace or other attributes once you start a plan. I also don’t like the letter grade rating for adherence to the training plan. Huge turn off. Positive encouragement would be preferred. I would not use this app again.

I have been using the run with Hal app for about 6 months, and they recently removed the free tier entirely. This is incredibly disappointing, and this update is not reflected on the website or in the apps description. This app is quite frankly not worth the addition fee for me

I loved the interface. Loved the app. Great plans. Totally would’ve kept my subscription but every time I went to login/ it would make me re buy the subscription. It wouldn’t register that I already had an account. I would get an error message about auth expiring or malware. Very frustrating as it’s a good app!

I receive an error every time I try to connect the app to my Garmin account. I reached out to customer support and they closed my ticket without providing any resolution. The automatic logging to update the training plan was one of the main reasons I subscribed to this service, manually logging runs is a pain and I would not have subscribed if I had known this app does not function as advertised.

This app erased my profile halfway through marathon training. I contacted customer service and they said everything is gone and they cannot recover it. This was my first marathon, and I was relying on it quite a bit for the training program. When I tried to start a new program, no matter how I changed the parameters, it treated me like I was starting from scratch to train for a marathon, so my 16 mile long runs were now 5 mile long runs. So at that point having an app was worthless because I’m going to have to figure this out on my own. I was really looking forward to seeing all of my stats and miles accumulated after three months of training, oh well.

The plan really help me on training a marathon. However, there should be more options in the “other race” such as 18 miles
