You are tasked with slaying the Balrog deep within the Mines of Moria. A translation of Robert Alan Koeneke's (1957-2022) Moria into a touchscreen first experience. Six classes and up to eight races create a unique play experience in your battle with randomized dungeon depths. Start your game in town with rags or riches based on a custom character backstory. Warrior class is recommended for players who are new to the game. Koeneke paints a world of entropy where even artifacts of incredible power may fall apart. Learn the conditions of survival and die at the hands of merciless foes. This game wasn't made to be won, for the Balrog is a foe beyond any of you. Progress you character with experience, D&D style attribute gains (strength, intelligence, wisdom, constitution, and charisma). Gain spells, armors, weapons, wands, staves, potions, scrolls, legendary artifacts, and mining tools. Your character is persistently saved on each level transition. Large dungeon levels are randomly generated and do not persist. You may return to town to renew your character and barter for goods. Equipment randomly disappears after level 25. Just logged on and i am in a dungeon with half my spellboojs and inventory gone. It keeps happening.

Before Final Fantasy we had this 😂 I was so overjoyed to see that it was converted to iOS. Pro Tip: Hold the center movement pad space + green button to repeat actions. Carpal tunnel is the real End Boss of this game.

I just want to say never stop updating this. This is literally peak ios gaming it has no ads and no in app purchases and a good price for how fun it is. An absolute banger. Oh also, only 2.1 mb. :-)

This was one of the first games I ever played. Was introduced to it on a Vax/Vms system at college in 1986. Never expected to be playing this game again, and certainly not on an Ipad/iphone. What a joy, especially for such a simple interface (imagination powered)! It is as frustrating and heart pounding an adventure as i remember it. Thank you for porting this. Appreciate also the character recovery feature. It’s been a Joy to play.

Mines of Moria ist ein Remake eines der ältesten traditionellen Roguelikes überhaupt, Moria. Und der Port zum Smartphone ist grandios gelungen. Die minimalistische, monochrome Tile-Art ist stylisch, die Bedienung durchdacht, das Soiel spielt sich so gut wie nie zuvor. Und mit Mines of Moria erwartet einen der Ursprung aller Angband-Roguelikes und generell immer noch einer der besten Vertreter des Genres. Für Fans ein absolutes Muss. Neben iNethack2 (Nethack-Port) und Rogue Touch (Rogue-Part) eins meiner drei liebsten iOS-Roguelikes und generell eines meiner Lieblingsspiele überhaupt.
