CozyBlanket includes in-app purchases to fully unlock its import/export options and advanced features. For the best experience, Apple Pencil is recommended, but not required. ## A complete suite for model preparation and optimization CozyBlanket can perform manual retopology, seam-based UV unwrapping, manual packing, normal maps and vertex colors baking. With CozyBlanket you can take your high poly models and manually prepare them for animation, video games, real-time rendering and surfacing. All with a single app. With CozyBlanket you can move the technical, manual work of creating 3D assets from your desktop to your iPad. By using a minimal UI and its innovative UX you can perform retopology, uv and baking as an enjoyable, game-like process similar to solving a puzzle, from the comfort of your sofa, on the train or while enjoying a hot chocolate at your favorite cafe. CozyBlanket was designed to be able to handle high resolution meshes coming from scans and desktop DCCs in mobile devices. Its performance is mostly limited by the iPad available memory. CozyBlanket allows you to import a high-poly sculpt and export a game-ready asset that looks the same, all without common pipeline issues such as scale mismatches, tangent space errors and snapping artifacts. ## A different approach to retopology, UV and baking CozyBlanket was designed to be beginner friendly and approachable, but very powerful. You can learn CozyBlanket's fundamentals and start working with it just by seeing it in action. From there, you can start digging into the included instructive tutorial slides and Action Gallery to discover its advanced features. All tooling was designed to take the most advantage of Apple Pencil and multitouch screens. When doing retopology, you create new quads, patches and grids by directly drawing on the high poly mesh. You can also transform the UV coordinates and texture position by using multitouch over the 3D mesh. CozyBlanket actions are also coherent between different tasks. Fox example, its Relax action behaves identically when using it for smoothing topology positions, UV coordinates or the baking cage's shape. ## Integrates with desktop software and pipelines CozyBlanket Standard version supports network functionality, This way it can be integrated with desktop software and pipelines by streaming geometry over the local network. No exporting and transferring files between devices is needed. CozyBlanket provides a network protocol that can be fully scripted to fit the requirements of your studio pipelines and custom tooling.}

The core functionality of CozyBlanket works really well - allowing users to do retopology on the iPad. It’s just lacking in a few areas. I feel like the UI is mostly okay, but saving files is clunky and unclear. I also like to have reference open in another window but CozyBlanket doesn’t work well with iPad multitasking windows, which was quite buggy and very frustrating (the undo button is also right under the minimise window button, arggh!) For the price it would be nice to see things tightened up a bit, but overall I do like it recommended it, despite the flaws.

ONCE FIXED ILL PUT IT BACK TO 5 STARS

Bought the full version and I regret it. Like i said, its almost there, but there’s too many small issues. I’m writing this because if they improve it it’ll be a great app and i hope my feedback will be useful. It’s having a hard time to be precise with the pen, it doesn’t always click where i intend to. The tools are incomplete, id like to be able to scale my area when i drag for example. I’d like to be able to work with the faces and edges not only the vertices and not an entire loop. It’s sold as an app dedicated to IPad, but they dont fully utilize the apple pen capabilities, pen pressure, tilt and double tap are no where to be seen or used. Another life quality improvement would be like in nomad, a palm detection and ignore it when i rest my hand on the screen would be great. Truly hope they keep improving it, it could make it actually pretty zen and enjoyable, but not yet.

Worth every cent, even though I bought Uniform I didn’t want and didn’t get a refund. :D So technically I paid for this app 160€.

I’m using it frequently now. On my 11-inch iPad Pro, the app performs flawlessly without crashing. Thank you, Pablo Dobarro for creating this excellent tool for 3D artists.

I love CozyBlanket, it can occasionally have small issues, but I’ve not run into any issues that have required a workaround. It isn’t necessarily the speediest workflow, but I find it the easiest to control the flow of the topology. The intuitive retopology tools aside, the UV unwrapping is fantastic! It’s turned a process many find tedious and bothersome into a task I genuinely look forward to.

This app is quite basic, but since there’s no competition, there aren’t many other options available. However, it does have some bugs that cause the app to crash, especially when using UV mapping. Despite its limitations, it’s a fun app to use, but my main concern is the developer’s commitment to it. Try it out and see if you find it useful.

Not a bad app, but a few features are missing considering the price, and furthermore the gestures can be kinda iffy in some situations. - My biggest feature request, above anything else, is the ability to view and hide pieces of target mesh geometry individually, currently you can either use the lasso or isolate one piece. I want to be able to toggle each piece in a “scene viewer” style tab. It’s unbelievably annoying to try to isolate and work on two or three pieces rather than just one and it shouldn’t be this hard!!! -Gestures work less and less the further off you get from your target mesh which can occasionally be necessary for really low poly stuff. -Settings don’t save well, my toolset keeps removing the erase tool every time I would like to add that I find it’s UV creation features to be really intuitive and quick to learn and use it’s just lacking some quality-of-life features, such as the aforementioned scene organizer. It also doesn’t have a mode specifically designed for creating UVs for a pre-existing low-poly model sans high poly which I would definitely want if I were to do more UVing in cozyblanket.

So, I have been struggling to retopo a reasonably complicated model. My first impression of CozyBlanket was it was okay. So kept hearing about other more “advanced” retopo tools like Topogun and Topoflow for Blender. Topoflow crashed blender repeatedly on my Mac Studio. Retopogun, was much more stable. I proceeded to retopo a head and it took me 6 hours. I am certainly not claiming to be a pro at retopolizing geometry. But I went back into Cozy Blanket and in ONE HOUR, I redid the head. The workflow of Cozyblanket is FANTASTIC. It’s been stable. Between the easy of flying around the model, placing faces, and building large mesh patches, CozyBlanket made this 10x faster. My only suggestion to the developer is PLEASE fix the file saving to be more traditional. It feels like in the effort of keeping it simple, I feel too disconnected with where my work is saved.
