The Exceptional Learning Squad uses social narratives, picture schedules, a token board, a visual timer, and a first/then chart from the perspective of squad members, Kevin, Harper, and Mateo, designed specifically for neurodivergent kids.
Follow the squad as they go on different adventures, learning about social interactions and life skills! The ELS Autism/ABA therapy app helps children understand the steps for completing daily living skills with independence and improve social skills through social narratives and picture schedules.
■ NEURODIVERGENT SOCIAL LEARNING WITH SOCIAL NARRATIVES, PICTURE SCHEDULE, FIRST/THEN CHART, VISUAL TIMER, AND TOKEN BOARD FOR SOCIAL AND LIFE SKILLS.
The Exceptional Learning Squad helps learners understand the steps for completing daily living skills and aims to improve neurodivergent children's social interactions through social narratives and picture schedules. This evidence-based approach is designed to support learners on the autism spectrum in mastering essential social and life skills!
■ SOCIAL NARRATIVES
The social narratives section of The Exceptional Learning Squad features social narratives such as: - Kevin Gets Ready for School - Kevin Brushes His Teeth - Harper Goes to Bed - Harper Washes Her Hands- and more! The social narratives are all divided into sections such as Home, Community-Based, and School.
■ PICTURE SCHEDULE
The interactive picture schedules organize events in sequential order, breaking down each task into manageable steps, allowing the users to gain independence in daily routines and social skills. Each social narrative is broken down into an interactive picture schedule.
■ CUSTOMIZE PICTURE SCHEDULE
The user can create their own picture schedule by using our pre-loaded activities or by using the camera feature to take a picture of any task or reward they want to schedule, encouraging your child to stay interested and motivated in getting the scheduled task done.
■ FIRST/ THEN CHART
A First/Then Chart allows individuals to see which non-preferred activities they must complete to receive a reward ( preferred activity). Visuals can help individuals understand what is expected, which may decrease frustration and anxiety. Our easy-to-use camera feature allows users to personalize the chart by taking a picture of any task or reward.
■ TOKEN BOARD WITH CAMERA
A token board is a visual tool used to reward positive behavior or track progress toward completing tasks. Each time a user completes a step or shows good behavior, they earn a token. Once they collect enough tokens, they receive a reward. You can select rewards from the given options, as well as take pictures of the reward with the camera feature.
■ VISUAL TIMER
Provides a visual of time. Visual timers are especially useful for timed activities, homework, playtime, or transitions between tasks. They can also support emotional regulation by making wait times more manageable. This helps autistic children see how much time they have left in an activity.
