Ventrickle

I have been using the free version and it has been wonderful. But for the past few days, the interface was off, with weird headings like “yer a wizard”, “time travel” etc, and the it said I have excess calories when I haven’t even log in anything for the day. There’s no recent update , so I’m not sure what went wrong .

It’s been great! As someone who struggles with eating and often feels unsure about whether I’ve overeaten, it really helps to know the calories of the foods I’m having. This reduces my anxiety around food and allows me to track better, which supports my weight loss goals. I think it’s best used as a tool to guide your food choices — without letting it paralyze you. I also really appreciate that the team listens to user feedback and keeps adding new places accessible to Pro members. If you’re serious about tracking, the Pro membership is definitely worth considering. Great job team! 🥰❤️❤️

Love supporting local, the idea of accuracy in macros by partnering local joints to lab test dishes, offering an AI feature. Good app for beginners who want to start macros tracking but not sure where to begin. What has been putting me off / not making me want to pay for premium: 1. For experienced trackers, your kcal/macros in the app is fixed by adding your weight, activity level & goal. Assuming you already know what macros you need/want to start off with, there’s no way to manually override what’s given by the system. 2. “My Foods” (i.e. where you log your own foods that can’t be found in the Ventrickle database) takes forever to load. Not sure if it’s because of the number of entries I have (~40) but each time I toggle to the page it takes between 15-20 seconds to load. Page only shows 10 entries, then loading the next 10 entries takes another 15-20 seconds to load. Press “+” to log from the My Foods page and it takes another 15 seconds to reload the page for you to log the next food item. 3. When you add a new entry on “My Foods”, you’re given 2 fields to fill: (1) Item name, (2) Brand. Searching the brand name on My Foods doesn’t load the item, so I had to resort to adding brand name to Item Name field subsequently. I’ve tried the app for the last 6 months, overall sentiment is that there are better free apps out there which are less buggy & works better (higher propensity to then pay for premium).

This app has helped reduce my time in logging local food items and also help me understand food intake better!

Love the AI camera! It’s pretty accurate and helps me save SO much time in tracking my calories. Also love the Rewind feature for when I overeat on some days heh.

Pros: 1) Contain Singaporean Local Food 2) Can track time of consumption Cons: 1) Small database compared to other similar apps 2) UI could be improved e.g. does not sure what is the weight of a portion 3) AI feature is clunky
