Data logging app for FLIR ONE
Description (
Characters: 1094 of 4000
)
Vernier Thermal Analysis Plus for FLIR ONE offers all the great features of Vernier Thermal Analysis, and adds time-lapse thermal photography! Mark up to four locations or regions on a thermal image. In a selected region, you can determine minimum, maximum or average temperature. Graph temperature data live during an experiment, then export to our Graphical Analysis app for further analysis. Thermal image videos can also be exported to the Photos app. Videos can be captured in real-time or time-lapse. Non-contact temperature data collection with video can be used to observe temperature changes on the skin, illustrate convection, show heating due to friction, and more. Compare heat conduction in different materials or compare the transparency of materials in infrared vs. visible light. What will you explore? With the new time-lapse recording feature, record temperature changes over longer timespans and play it back at 2x, 4x or as fast as 2000x! - Requires FLIR ONE accessory for iPhone. - Compatible with FLIR ONE PRO, FLIR ONE (2nd generation), and FLIR ONE (3rd generation).}

I just bought this $13.99 dollar app and can’t order the appliance Flir One attachment anymore....why bait people with the app if the Flir One tool is discontinued? I’d like my money back!

This app whilst looks useful, is extremely buggy and crashes everytime I try and open an “experiment” longer than a couple minutes. Like the flir app, they put a watermark on every video output (but their logo instead of flir). This is ridiculous and makes this useless for a lot of purposes. Update: after managing to finally export a video (after spending hours!! trying different things to make the app stop crashing) the maximum temperature bounding box that’s rendered onto the video is not accurate. It does not match up with the recorded temperature or the graph that is included in the video. These developers should be ashamed. Update 2: literally any recording that’s longer than like 2-3 minutes crashes the app when you try to open it. This app is completely useless.

Version 1.3 of the free app the alignment is done swiping in two dimensions. In Version 2 it is a slider in one direction. Seems the less smart guy won. So for 10 bucks I get the timelaps, but loose the cool swiping alignment.

Vernier AND FLIR should be embarrassed with how poorly this app works. The features (particularly data logging) are awesome, but the app simply fails to run stable. If it doesn’t crash when you’re recording data, it surely will when you go back to replay it... if you can get your experiments to load at all without crashing. I thought I could use this in a professional product development setting, but besides being a showcase for what COULD be, this app is functionally useless.
