HRV4Training helps you optimize goals and improve performance. No sensors needed
Description (
Characters: 2767 of 4000
)
The only scientifically validated HRV app that doesn't require an external sensor. HRV4Training helps you optimize your goals by providing tailored feedback on your physical condition On compatibility with your phone: the app will detect right away if your phone is supported so that you can always get a refund in case it is not. HRV4Training in addition to our camera based measurements, supports the Oura ring, Coros watches and Bluetooth sensors (e.g. a Polar chest strap, our recommendation) HRV4Training is also the first app that goes beyond simple measurements and provides insights on: 1) acute or day to day HRV changes in response to different stressors (alcohol, travel, sick days, training, menstruation, etc.) 2) long term multi-parameter trends to look at the big picture 3) correlations between physiological measurements and annotations 4) training load analysis, fitness, fatigue, readiness to perform and injury risk 5) VO2max estimation for runners linking the app to Strava or TrainingPeaks 6) Training Polarization analysis 7) Weekly and monthly summaries to track progress. All data is processed inside the app in order to provide you with actionable interpretations that can help optimizing your training plan and performance. Other features: - HRV-based advice helps you to adapt your trainings based on objective measures of recovery - TAGS: lets you tag your sleep, mental energy, muscle fatigue, stress and all other parameters that can help you understand what is influencing your physical condition and physiological stress - Works with Bluetooth SMART heart rate monitors (a Polar H7 is recommended) - Configurable test (choose test duration between 1, 3 or 5 minutes) - Shows the PPG signal view to ensure signal quality during the test if the camera is used instead of a sensor - Extracts and stores the following features while lying down and/or standing: heart rate, mean of beat-to-beat intervals (AVNN), standard deviation of beat-to-beat intervals (SDNN), square root of the mean squared difference of successive R-Rs (rMSSD), number of pairs of successive R-Rs that differ by more than 50 ms (pNN50), low frequency power (LF, 0.04-0.15 Hz), high frequency power (HF, 0.15-0.40 Hz) - Population summaries and people like you comparisons to put your data into perspective - Data export via email - RR-intervals correction - Integrates with TrainingPeaks, Strava and others More details on HRV and app usage are available here: http://www.hrv4training.com/quickstart-guide.html and here: https://marcoaltini.substack.com/ HRV4Training requires to register an account with your email address, so that your data can be backed up safely and retrieved in case anything happens (app issue, changing phone, etc.).}

There's no way to connect to my chest strap, and no way to take hrv readings. As such the app was a total waste of money as I can't use it for its intended purpose, and the refund option on play store is not working. Feel like I've been scammed.

I use this app as my daily reminder to track my recovery and readiness, but since the latest update, I’ve been having a problem — after taking a measurement and adding notes, I can’t save the record. The interface overlaps with my phone’s display; it’s hard to describe exactly, but a white bar at the bottom of the screen prevents me from tapping the Save button. My phone is a Xiaomi 13T Pro. My friend has the same issue on a OnePlus Nord 4, so the problem doesn’t seem to be device-specific.

The app works great but the UI looks outdated and it's not acceptable that every time I write some notes and by mistake I close the window (or I simply want to add something else) I shall start all over because everything is deleted. Update after 4 years: the app looks exactly like it was 4 years ago, so extremely outdated by now. And apparently TrainingPeaks synch is locked behind paywall now. Honestly, ridiculous. Save your money.

Deeply regret buying. There should be a trial period. User interface is clunky, outdated, and not intuitive like some other apps. Had I had a chance to trial this i would not have purchased it.

I loved the idea, but the data I am getting is worthless. I have been taking two measurements in the morning before getting up, all of them with reportedly "optimal" signal quality, on 100 different days and determined the rank correlation between the two HRV values. The result was R=0.36, so the app is measuring something real, but the data is completely unusable. For reliable daily advice I would expect R>0.9. For heart rate it was R=0.82. YMMV, but maybe a single measurement can't say much.

Fantastic app! I use it every morning and it gives more actionable advice than the continuous overnight measure usually found on wearables.

I couldn't get an optimal recording quality with my HR chest strap. I appreciate that the app actually told me that, rather than taking the easy road and acting like the read quality was fine. I've been able to get optimal readings using just the phone and the app's guidance on getting better readings. But one day I took multiple back to back readings and the variance between them was high enough to shake my faith in the usefulness of measuring hrv here, and then it didn't pick up on an illness
