Headunit Receiver emulator for Android Auto. How to use the app? USB Mode
  • Plug in the USB to your device (in case of tablet use an OTG cable), when prompted make sure you allow HUR to be the default app for the action and you check the always box.
  • If you are running the app on a device with Android 7.0 or higher, you might need to pull down the notification bar and select the connected USB device before the app starts (this is device dependent)
Wifi
  • Install WiFi Launcher app on the phone!
  • In WiFi Launcher select the cars BT, so app starts automatically
  • Enable hotspot option in WiFi Launcher, connect your car's unit to the phones hotspot and open HeadUnit Reloaded (you can reverse the hotspot / client roles as well if you wish)
Self Mode (when Android Auto and HUR are running on the same device) - Open HUR and press Self-mode (make sure you have Android Auto installed on the device you are trying to achieve this) FAQ / Troubleshoot All I get is a black screen - If you are using an Android powered headunit (Joying, Xtrons, etc) look for a setting on your device which allows Video Playback during drive - Try changing HUR settings and enable Software decoding Compatible with: Joying, Eonon, Grom Vline, Xtrons, PX5 and PX3 units, A-Sure, RK3188 units, RK3066 units, Avin and other Android powered head units. i downloaded the paid version and it kicks me out all the time out of the app and some functionality not present. like self mode and the resolution settings not working. after kicks me out wont launch AA

I accidentally purchased this on both this account and another one. However, I'd apparently purchased and refunded this before, so I can't get the money back. 😭 Regardless, this works well once set up, though I would use an external BT / WiFi audio sink as the HUR one cuts off the highs (Google Maps navigator sounds muffled).

"I want my refund" install the app and the required app says I need to turn off battery optimization...and guess what! it's off and it still doesn't work and "when I do get it to work" it doesn't even show the apps from my other phone it shows the app that's on the phone that's used for the screen.... this should not be a paid app it should be free until you get it working

Been using for a while on cheap under powered Chinese head unit with pixel phone via usb. Makes the interface super fast and usable, unlike the native display. Only niggle compared to proper android auto head units, I have to always open the hur app and select usb. I can't seem to get it to auto connect/open when plugging in the phone.

Installed it on aftermarket HU, using Pixel 9 Pro. Connection type with HU hotspot and wifi launcher app on phone. Works great, i just have to turn off and on wifi in order to get it casting even though phone is instantly connected to HU hotspot. Only thing that bugs me is searching in google maps on HU, not possible but only over phone. Also layout cant be changed to split screen between music app and map, there is no option for this, only one or the other but easily accasable by 1 click on HU

Pude hacerlo andar hasta inalámbricamente, pero usa una versión de Android auto demasiada vieja. Deberían actualizarla. Y sin errores claro
