Interactive Miniature Painting Catalogue
Description (

impcat (short for Interactive Miniature Painting Catalogue) is a simulator for photorealistic painting results on gaming and tabletop miniatures. This tool gives you a variety of miniature images that you can select and then paint with colours you own or perhaps wish to purchase. It works with predefined colour palettes, using names and values as promoted by their manufacturers. To achieve a high quality result the system simulates a four step painting process: Base colouring, layering, shading and highlighting. Features: - A list of 6 biult-in miniatures, provided by Artel "W". - A list of built-in colour palettes, containing Vallejo Model Color and Vallejo Game Color (308 colours in total). - Access to miniature template and colour palette DLCs that instantly get updated as soon as we upload new content (completely free, no micro-transactions of any kind). - An complement recommendation mode that lets you select a base colour and then automatically applies harmonizing layer, shade and highlight paints, which you can then customize at will. - A photorealistic simulation of the applied paints. - A shopping list generator that collects the data of all applied colours and gives you the links to the corresponding shop pages. - A colour mixer tool (to mix predefined paints in multiple steps) - A colour creator tool (to create and collect your own colours) - A randomiser tool that randomly distributes colours across a model For more information and news about this app, visit www.impcat.de}

How has this App 50'000 downloads and not a single review? It's amazing, I love it! I had to find a Sisters of Battle .svg file in a MEGA download from a reddit forum and bäm! import was easy and the user interface is very intuitive. Highly recommended for testing Paint Schemes.

I don't know what happened but now the app is borked. edit* I reinstalled the app for the 5th time and it looks like it's back in a usable state. not a big fan that the app now covers the entire screen - it sucks having the name of the file placed right where the camera is as well as having the paint options at the very bottom - makes using my bottom navigation buttons harder to use. I'm bumping my review up to 3 stars instead of 1 due to the complaints above.

Good App for planning your miniatures. Had an issue after Android update, Developer made a bugfix within 12 hours after reporting. Excellent support!

love it! I work at a wargame shop and I can easily explain the effect of washes and highlights!

It fills a niche and does it relatively well but has some painful points: 1, it sometimes loses progress when you change focus to another app or turn off your screen; 2, the model choosing menu tends to be quite sluggish. Regardless, it still does what you need it to do. Some nice features to add: - search function for models and schemes - grouping/folders for saved schemes - recently used colors swatch on the side

can't load saved configurations, so it's kinda pointless in the end

Could definitely be a little bit more intuitive, but if you can push past the initial hurdle of working out it's menus this is a great tool! I use it to test every colour scheme I come up with. Plus it's a great testing ground for specific paints, especially Vallejo, as the app uses colours taken directly from the real stuff. Check out the Impcat Subreddit to find the community library of free models, it's always growing!

Wanted to use this for Chaos Daemons but the files are nowhere to be found. It was a total waste of money for me.

Infrequent Crashes bring down the score considerably. Going to the discord and taking data from that master shared file dump really make concept painting armies a blast and really easy. If they fix the crashing I'll be happy. Until then, meh.
