A place to start musical ideas
Description (
Characters: 3077 of 4000
)
Start new musical ideas with a curated selection of sounds and effects. Create beats and melodic parts, sample your world, and continue your tracks in Ableton Live. Note is a place to form ideas, explore new sounds and find direction. Get your ideas out or just experiment until inspiration hits, using a selection of Ableton Live’s drum kits, synths and melodic instruments. Create your own sound palette by sampling with your phone’s built-in microphone. And use Note’s built-in MIDI Editor to sequence notes, beats and chords or make tweaks as you listen back Follow your ideas wherever they lead by sending your projects to Live without leaving the app with the help of Ableton Cloud. Open projects from Live’s browser and keep working – you can edit all your MIDI notes, and all your samples and sounds from Note are exactly the same. Ableton Note users get a free license for Ableton Live Lite – simple, intuitive software used by musicians, producers and DJs around the world to write, record, and perform. For Ableton Move users, Note also offers the chance to keep working on a Set from your phone. Begin with a beat: • Choose from 76 Drum Sampler kits • Tap out a beat using the 16-pad grid, or sequence one with the MIDI Editor • Play each drum hit melodically using 16 Pitches mode • Quantize your beat or nudge notes to fix loose timing or mistakes • Add more layers of rhythm • Create beat repetitions with Note Repeat • Change parameters to shape your sound • Experiment with effects or apply swing for variations Start with a melody: • Choose from 317 synth sounds and 60 Melodic Sampler instruments • Play or program your melody or chord progression with the 25-pad grid, piano roll or MIDI Editor • Set a key and scale to get instantly harmonic results • Add more layers of harmony • Change parameters to shape your sound • Add effects to experiment with sound design Sample your environment: • Create your own kits by recording percussive sounds into Note’s Drum Sampler • Record tonal sounds to create your own Melodic Sampler instruments • Manipulate your samples by cutting, filtering or repitching them • Sequence samples into beats, melodies and chords using the MIDI Editor • Shape or transform your sounds with effects • Import your own samples or audio directly from videos Capture improvisations: • Play something, then tap the Capture button to keep it • Play at a tempo that feels comfortable and Note will detect it • Note will recognize the length of the phrase and create a loop • Quantize it, add to it, or change the sound • Connect MIDI hardware to play keys and change the sound of your instruments Create variations: • Note features a grid-based Session View layout • Double your loops to create variation within clips • Duplicate your clips and create different versions of your ideas • Add, delete or adjust multiple notes at once with the MIDI Editor • Create eight tracks with up to eight clips on eight scenes • Try different clip combinations and song structures • Export your work as an audio file to listen and share }

This is a very powerful on the go version of a real daw. Perfect for mobile! If you are into music production, especially if you’re a Ableton user, this is a must have. Cloud sync is great for transferring files! Love the updates as well!!!

Obviously this app is being improved regularly, so hopefully they add AUV3 and multi bus out support, so this one app can dominate the iPad with its level of functionality.

Easy to use, intuitive and quite nice visual aspect, it would seem that it could be better than FLMobile but I consider that there are 3 things that hold back its true potential to be better than FLMobile (which I have and use) and I wish that these recommendations could be heard!. 1. Manual draw notes and visual midi editor: It's really frustrating to have to record and record to get a sound right, it would be easier to just take that sound and drag it to a specific note on the midi piano (all already quantized to our shape). In other words, like in “Live” if we could have a visual midi piano in which we can capture notes just by pressing said note, add loops and that their duration depends on the duration of the note placed on the midi piano, that would be great. 2. Moving the pad rack or midi piano: If we could have the option to move on the midi piano or the pad rack itself to select the 8th we want, that would save us a lot of time! It would also help a lot if we could activate the option to see the labels or name of the notes on the piano or rack (C,D,E, Kick, Snare, Clap, etc...) 3. Add more than one effect or plugin: maybe for performance reasons this is not possible but if it is not, it would be great to have the opportunity to add more than one effect to individual pads and sound kits, like “ I want to add max 5 or 8 effects or effects plugin (reverb, sat, EQ) at the same time in a single sound and also to the sound kit.

Hey there, I was wondering if you could Add a few changes, like making it look like the ableton laptop/desktop version And I was wondering if you could please add a scream rotation feature please because, as a music producer I rotate my phone sideways to make music and if you could do that please that would greatly appreciated, cause it would make it easier for producers like myself Please do so thanks, Take care

Just add move as a controller. Using Move in control live mode. Without any need of mapping or configuration It would be perfect. Thanks for the updates

Update: I’m still using this app daily. So good. I sometimes prefer this to using Ableton Suite. The simple workflow allows me to concentrate on my ideas rather than getting lost in production. Ableton are doing such a good job with this app. Please keep developing it. It’s really useful and great fun! Thank you. Update: Still really good. However, I know it’s a sketch pad, but they REALLY need to sort out the sequencer (visual grid and better quantise snapping). Then it’ll be perfect. 👍 ——————- It’s great, but it needs a lot of work on the editor. Such as: - A visual grid to place notes (depending on quantise). - The ability to add notes (like a step sequencer). - the ability to draw the length of notes. - The ability to change the velocity of notes. Other people have mentioned slicing (warping would be better) of audio loops. I’d second that too. All in all, a really solid start. Definitely a must have if you own Live. How much I’ll use it (and how much it inspires me to use Ableton) depends on how much they develop the editor. I really hope this is only the beginning.

I've been using this since release but few days ago I had to uninstall to get more space on my phone. When I redownloaded it all my projects were gone and couldn't recover them. They were very important to me and now I'm heartbroken.
