Turn pictures of your favorite moments into beautiful cross stitch tapestries of almost any size! Cross Stitch Creator is an embroidery app that allows you to generate cross stitch patterns from pictures (or create them from scratch) and track your progress on them. You can also save patterns as PDFs to print or share with your friends! There are no subscriptions or in app purchases - after the initial app purchase you can create as many patterns and PDFs as you want. Features: • Generate cross stitch patterns from pictures or from scratch up to 800 x 800 stitches • Use hundreds of different colors in a single pattern • 489 different DMC thread colors to choose from • Create your own color palettes to use for generating (such as colors you already own) • Several generation parameters such as maximum number of colors allowed and dithering • Track your progress on patterns (details below) • Edit your patterns after generating to perfect them or build one from scratch (details below) • See a preview of what your pattern will look like when it's fully stitched • Print patterns from directly within the app • Share patterns as PDFs via Email, iMessage, and more • Help popups to guide you through using the app Progress tracking: • Colorize individual stitches to mark progress • Quick and easy symbol/color lookup • Lockable stitches • Sortable key • Pattern metadata such as size, date created, number of colors, percent complete... Pattern editor: • Clean up generated patterns or create patterns from scratch • Tools include draw, erase, fill, and undo/redo • Effects such as reducing the number of colors used, conforming to a given palette, and resizing/cropping • Note: Only full stitches and backstitches are supported. Half stitches, quarter stitches, french knots, etc. are not. Disclaimer: Although we try our best, thread colors may not appear to be completely accurate. Perception of thread color depends on multiple factors including, but not limited to, display settings such as brightness and night shift, ambient light conditions, and neighboring colors in the pattern. Please use your best judgement in determining which colors to actually use when stitching the pattern.}

There is a lot of awesome things about this app. It transfers drawings for the most part, still requires editing and cleaning up. But, one of the things that bothers me though is having to hold the square down to draw and fill in multiple squares. I can see why it could be helpful to have a toggle, but I wish it was a setting I could change. Additionally, when choosing dmc thread, the sort doesn’t save, so you have to go in and re-sort how you want it to be the next time you go to find a color. Additionally, I wish I could choose what symbols the thread use, but haven’t been able to find a way to do that yet, hope they can continue to perfect it!

This app made my stitching so much more interesting. I can make my own designs and it is so easy to use. Love it ❤️

The ease of use and the many functions. I spend many hours creating patterns from scratch and would love the back stitch, french knot and diagonal stitch added to it to make it the best app for creating cross stitch on the iPad.

How do I delete palletes and how do I select my palette colors by using my pattern not having the app decide where colors go?

Learning but looks like it does a good job. The pictures show the chart pattern on one page. I understand the color key is on a separate page but I would like the actual chart to be all on one page please.

Love the app, it’s so easy to use, and love that you can print your pattern in pdf. But I wish there was a way to have the picture of the created pattern instead of just a name. It would have been easier to find the pattern if you have a lot of them. Hope also you will make half-stitches and more averrable

Are there any plans to print the pattern in colour? I am really struggling to read the chart as it is in black and white.

Really wish that the progress tracker is actually tracking progress instead of just making a symbol colored or vice versa. Like showing you how much stitches you’ve done so far, percentage of finished part, time spend on a certain protect, ect. Also the PDF pattern is exported with the symbol as a image instead of the symbols as a font, because of this it is impossible to use the pattern in apps that actually track progress (won’t be necessary of course when these futures will be added to this app, but as long as that isn’t an option it would be nice. I really want to know how far I have progressed and want to mark what I have done so far without the need of printing my patterns, so reduce my waste. Conclusion: nice app for creating patterns, but a little to expensive for just doing that, there are cheaper apps for that with the option of tracking progress (and not being able to use it without printing). Would be 5 ⭐️ if the above options are added, or when the PDF export in symbol font instead of images.

Have been using this app for a few months now. Patterns are easy to make, edit, save and use. Intuitive interface with handy query button that can be toggled on and off for more/less info. Use of more (all?) thread colors would be great, and ability to still see symbol underneath color would be helpful when tracking as you stitch. Great value for money!

Improvements: - Removed the "hold to drag" square from the editor to support the more standard "two finger drag to move" that's used throughout iPadOS. Dragging with a single finger now applies the current tool (e.g. draws stitches), which improves the experience for Apple Pencil - Added the ability to select which symbol to use for each color in a pattern - Upgraded existing lower resolution symbols in older patterns to use the equivalent higher resolution symbols - Adds stitch numbers to chunk separators in pattern PDFs - Save the sort type used in the thread color picker Minor bug fixes: - Backstitches in the PDF now properly scale their line width according to the stitch size - Colors in the PDF that are only used for backstitches now only have an entry in the backstitch section rather than both the standard stitches section and backstitch section
