Love the app but being able to adjust the text size would be hugely helpful to those who struggle with the small font size

With the latest update I’m faced with a blank screen when the app starts. This started with a slow start-up but is now a permanent feature. The problem has now been fixed and SU contacted me to confirm they had addressed the issue, thank you! Suggestion: I am sometimes in places with no internet coverage so can’t use the app. In this situation it would be good to be able to download a pdf or similar of a few day’s notes beforehand.

I love this app. Being able to access really great daily reading content is a major plus. I created an account so I can journal my thoughts and answers to prayer too. Really great little addition.

New app brings great improvements, can skip if you don’t want to sign in but then having access to notes feature if you sign up is a plus. The format is helpful and you can find a day if you missed out on any to catch up. Thought provoking content.

Oh dear. The content of this is great - I’ve been using for 30 years, on the app for the last ten. The new app is rubbish. Not intuitive at all. Doesn’t navigate between days by swiping. Too much extraneous info on each page. Don’t need the intro every day, don’t need full Bible text. Do need offline access. Insistent that I register my details. I’m very likely to go back to paper if that’s still possible.

Having used Encounter with God for many years, I am disappointed with this new app. Yes, the appearance is much improved. But I can’t read it in landscape mode on my iPad. I can’t easily swipe backward and forwards between dates. I can only use it with a current wifi signal, it doesn’t download to read offline. Not nearly so user friendly.

The app has been completely rebuilt, and I must say I’m grateful. There were so many bugs with the old one, it’d been unusable for a while now. Congratulations and thank you. It’s not perfect, but I’m trusting it will be refined based on feedback. So here’s mine! Good points: it works, hallelujah!; the search feature feels like it will be very helpful; favouriting readings is a great feature too. It is however a real shame that the app now requires an internet connection to show readings, with no way to cache them for offline reading. Some other strongly suggested improvements: (1) I don’t need the introduction taking up so much space each day, reading it once is plenty thanks! (2) The repeated use of large stock images really gets in the way of the reading/commentary that is, after all, the single reason I’m opening the app. Especially (but not only) because each reading is represented by identical images! Reducing, or perhaps — he says with desperate hopefulness — eliminating these would really help the interface get out of the way. (3) Some customisation options for things like font and colour scheme would significantly help accessibility. Oh, and (4), the return of a browser of readings by passage would complement the search nicely. (5) Allow me to pick a favoured translation - and/or just hide it by default if I wish? (I recognise copyright and royalties must play a role here however.) Currently the paper version remains vastly more readable, but the digital one is so convenient I’m likely to use it anyway. Some customisation options for what to show would go a long way to bridging the gap, and let the digital version really shine. As for the readings, they remain the same thought provoking, varied commentary as ever, and I’m grateful to have them in my pocket. This rebuild is a welcome solid foundation for the future and I look forward to seeing it refined.

I’ve been using EWG app for many years on my iPad. The new release only seems to support a vertical orientation - ie as on a phone. This is really annoying.
