The stats no longer track appropriately. That's the whole point of the app.

When you click on certain ski resorts it will say 5 out 20 lifts open but on a lot of resorts you can’t click on the thing to see a list of what chair lifts are open. For a billion dollar company their app is not very good. I do love the Ikon pass and being able to ski though. Just wish their app was better with important information like what ski resorts are open. What has the most snow and lifts open.

I attempted to track my entire day today at Lake Louise and for about the fifth time now this app just decided to give me an error message saying I’m not authorized for tracking. I tried to reset the app and do it again and it did not work at all today.

Replaces the superior Steamboat app with a clearly inferior product. Making Alterra the McDonald’s of skiing. Bring back the local flavor, experience, and expertise of individual resort apps.

The lifts and trails page for Winter Park is blank. The trail map for Winter Park is actually for Copper. Basically unusable.

I can’t believe you took all that mountain apps away, so I can’t just go to a Mammoth Mountain app which has so much information on it. You make me go to icon app and then that on my phone will end up loading the Mammoth mountain website which is on a phone. That is exactly what we’re using when we’re skiing or snowboarding, this was a ridiculous decision.

ikon forced the mountain apps to move to Ikon. But, they have none of the good features built into it 1. No place to read the blog from palisades(that is the major reason I used the app) 2. All the super fun resort specific “awards” are gone. They used to be a big part of why my kids liked the app 3. They lost all my data from years of tracking Big bummer.

I’m honestly shocked at how bad this app is compared to the original Steamboat app. Whoever greenlit replacing a local, accurate, mountain-run tool with this generic, corporate-feeling thing clearly doesn’t ski here, doesn’t ride here, and definitely has never stood in a lift line at 7:45 a.m. waiting for first tracks. No extended weather report. Three days. That’s it. At a mountain where storm cycles matter, where locals plan around patterns, where knowing when the next front hits actually determines whether we show up at 8 or noon. The Steamboat app used to give real weather data, written by someone who was literally on the mountain. Now it reads like someone in a conference room in California copy-pasted a marketing blurb. Calling the conditions “Powder” with one run open. Come on. This is embarrassing. You don’t get to slap “Powder” on the homepage when there’s one run open and a base depth measured in inches that could barely fill a cereal bowl. That’s not reporting, that’s branding. The Snow Report quality is gone. The old Steamboat report sounded like a real human standing in real snow. This one reads like AI generated a holiday greeting card. No future weather insights, no local tone, no nuance about what’s actually happening on-mountain. Just vague filler and “magical resort season” fluff. Navigation is confusing, layout is bloated, and essential info is buried. If Ikon’s goal was to make it harder to quickly get basic mountain info (lifts, terrain status, temperatures at different elevations, detailed snowfall tracking), mission accomplished. It takes way too many taps to find anything that should be on the home screen. No way to send direct feedback. This is the cherry on top: I can’t even email anyone from inside the app. No “contact us.” No “submit feedback.” Nothing. So I’m leaving this review here because the app itself apparently doesn’t want to hear from the people who actually use it. Bottom Line: You tossed out a great Steamboat-specific app for this watered-down, one-size-fits-nobody version. Locals deserve better. Pass holders deserve better. And snow reporting should come from someone who can tell the difference between marketing copy and reality on the mountain.
