To start, Flex can be a good way to earn extra income, but the ongoing issues I’ve experienced with the app have become so frustrating that I’m seriously reconsidering continuing as a Flex driver. Several times, I’ve arrived at the station only to find the app won’t let me tap “I’ve parked” to complete check-in. I’ve tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps-deleting and reinstalling the app, which is time-consuming, especially when you’re supposed to start a block. When that didn’t work, I had to track down a station supervisor to check me in manually. Another recurring problem is with package organization. I carefully sort my packages before leaving the station, but when I reach my first stop, the app has rearranged the order, making the process more time-consuming and frustrating. Additionally, in the past few days, Amazon has contacted me about missed blocks that I never scheduled, which negatively affected my standing. Although I disputed these and had them removed, these errors shouldn’t happen in the first place. Why are there constant issues with this app and no specific information is given so drivers can properly check/report/disagree/appeal issues that affect our standing? Overall, while Flex offers earning potential, these persistent technical issues make it difficult to justify the effort required to keep driving.

I’ve worked with a delivery company that uses flex for a over a year now and even have a newer phone a iPhone 15 and constantly have issues. From poor routing to not even to deliver to houses because the gps is laggy and struggles to find you. Driver support takes feedback but can take months to fix any major issues. I’ve tried on other phones from work but all come down to similar issues.

All the reviews saying the app is perfect and a great way to make extra cash have to be fake. There’s often no way to get a block because they appear and are instantly gone. It’s hard to believe that every single time I try to reserve something, a block will appear and then is instantly gone. There are people picking up packages at the station who clearly and openly use prohibited software that allows them to share or split blocks (they are putting packages from different routes in multiple cars). Amazon does absolutely nothing about this. Unless you’re willing to use auto tapping software (which reserves blocks for you and then takes a portion of your earnings) or sit at the station all day hoping to get a last minute shift there’s no point in doing Flex anymore.

Frustrating, stressful, High anxiety, IF YOU GET A BLOCK/ SHIFT then VERY high mileage and low pay!!! Been working for this gig for almost 3 years now and I have many things. After you complete your first year it’s going to be VERY HARD TO GET A BLOCK, and if you get a block then it’s high mileage and low pay, as if they don’t want you to work the platform anymore after your first year. The first year was ok, then after that they start treating me and you as if we’re nothing to them. They have YOU run a block for 75 dollars, 3 hours and you will drive 125 miles. VERY HIGH MILAGE Gig. Another example, you run a block for 4 hours 116 dollars and they drive you 170+ miles. Another example 89.50 3.5 hrs 140 miles. They RUN your mileage up. They send you out 45 minutes to 1 hour out during your delivery/ block and your drive home is 1 hour which is also frustrating when your out delivering at 3am in the morning for some delivery blocks and have a 1hr plus drive back home once you finish which is frustrating due to you having to drive 1 hour back home. They also will give you a block the has 62 + packages, and is 4hrs for 116 and you drive 120 miles and 45 min away from home once done but to even finish the block on time you better be speeding. Also vehicle issues such as check engine lights, tire blowouts etc., they don’t care and you will be negatively impacted severely. For a tow 100+miles away from my home was 246 dollars. THEY LOVE TO SEND YOU OUT ON LONG RUNS SO BE PREPARED. The gig is very frustrating due to how many packages and how far they send you and stressful due to how many packages and where they send you with a high level of anxiety due to you not knowing where your going and rather or not you will have a cart load of packages. They have you driving your own car which can be 140 miles+ per block with terrible pay compared to the miles your vehicle is enduring and the areas they have you delivering to with how many packages they have you delivering is very frustrating and sad and will make your feel depressed. Ooo don’t forget about tolls because they will send you on a toll road and won’t pay you for it, BUT EXPECT YOU TO TAKE THE TOLL!! The packages can all be boxes and can range from 25-50lbs which makes it very difficult to sort in vehicle and taking them to their delivery location and they put unnecessary things in boxes that should not be in boxes making them even more difficult to load due to how many boxes. They have you delivering to areas that are very unsafe and where even their own Amazon drivers get robbed, they send you down terrible roads. They have you delivering to downtown areas as well with 50+ packages during peak/ busy times and it’s no where to park and you will have to walk blocks to deliver 1 package due to no parking, as we don’t have the ability to just park in front of the business like there OWN AMAZON COMMERCIAL TRUCKS CAN which also makes it even more frustrating and very stressful. They have you delivering to many buildings/ apartment complex’s with heavy boxes which also makes it very difficult and frustrating especially when you have to walk a few blocks. You cant gain access to most delivery locations and have to call Amazon support which is also a pain because you have to spend up to 10min sometimes even 15min with support and sometimes the agent doesn’t even help and you will have to speak to another, if not 3 agents because they will just hang up or not say anything on the phone once they answer. It’s very frustrating and time consuming when you have 52 packages and all of them go to apartments and you have to call support on 42 out of the 52 stops due to a delivery issue and most of the time those apartments are in very busy business districts with little to no parking. They have you delivering to stops that are closer to home first and make all you other stops farther away making your drive time back home even longer instead of having you start farther out and moving back closer to your home. The navigation is also not great as they have have you take unnecessary routes and turns making the block even longer. Last but not least Amazon expects you to speed to the delivery locations to even break even with your time for the block because trust me if your doing the speed limit your going to be out there all day/night and might even take you longer then the expected time for the block because your doing the speed limit!!! They ALSO EXPECT YOU to be at the station 15 min before every block because they don’t include the time it takes you to sort and organize your packages from the exact start time of the block, they EXPECT you to be done organizing and driving at the start time of the block because you should have been there 15 minutes before the start time of the block!! They just don’t give enough time to get 60+ plus packages organized. If not 60 plus packages then expect 170 miles+ with 20 packages!! The app also sometimes switches your delivery stops, for example stop 15 could change to 41 as your on your way to stop 2 and then stop 2 might be stop 8 due to the app switching all the delivery stops which is even more frustrating!! Finally, finishing your block early is a thing of the past and be ready to deliver 52 packages on almost every block, if not 52+ packages the expect around 30 packages with 150 miles+. I’m only doing this because this world has become a sponge for money and Amazon knows which drivers depend on them and which don’t so they take advantage of the one who do, unfortunately I’m one of those ones who does need them so I can only do my job and only hope to find something else better because when I don’t it’s adios Amazon and I’ll never be back. I DONT RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS, FAMILY, OR COLLEAGUES. AMAZON FLEX WONT CHANGE no matter how many times we complain nor give negative feedback to try and help them improve all around from the app to driver satisfaction. They also hold you responsible for every little thing even if it.
