Tight and mean, loose and clean and anywhere in between. This plug sounds great and is very useable. I track from my iPad into ableton along with a direct signal, put an ampeg b15 plug on the direct and leave the mammoth track as is, pan them a bit and boom. The only suggestion I have is to clean up the UI, some of the controls are unnecessarily small and cramped... while the logo is unnecessarily big and eats up valuable real estate. Thank you.

This really impressed me. There are very view option for good bass plugins and tone options anywhere, so for this to be so complete and on-the-nose with the tone I’m searching for was exciting! It’s possible to get a decent aggressive tone but to get a good modern sound for prog or djent with double thump technique is much more difficult and Mammoth accomplishes. I still need to play around with the configurations more, but I was very happy with the presets. I hope to see more from this developer.

I've had the vst version for a while, but have been waiting impatiently for iOS appearance. Now it's here and it's as amazing as the computer version! Performance - smooth and very CPU friendly. I would only point out that to select the pre-amps is a bit fiddly - sometimes it requires few taps on the button to make it switch. However after my recent experience of Aurora DSP's Customer Service I'm sure it will be fixed soon! The tones you can crank up in this sleek unit are unbelievable! It is aimed for heavy types of music (looking at the visual aspect of the app: you wouldn't really want that nasty mammoth anywhere close to cosy soul/pop tunes!) The presets are good starting point, but they sound a bit too harsh for me (musicman stingray bass with low action and a lot of clank) - but quick play with the EQ and IRs and I can get a tone that not just sounds fat, beefy and aggressive, but it cuts through the mix like butter (but still staying in a solid low end of the mix). I've just noticed that the "hot" button had been added to the latest version... OMG, time for some doom/sludge riffs action!!! To summarise my short review: I should really give one star only, as I've spent some heavy cash on Sansamp VTDI pedal very recently - in a pursue for the ultimate bass sound... Now with the Mammoth iOS I started questioning my purchase! 😂 Seriously speaking: for me it's better than overcomplicated Parallax. Great job, Aurora DSP!!!
