For at least a year, text formatting randomly breaks. I can insert a rotating slide show block with dancing horses and magic holographic sparkles... but I cannot italicize a word. Maybe stop releasing useless new features until basic text formatting works? Maybe prioritize debugging this mess over further bloating this already obese feature set? Wordpress used to be so good.

On October 27, 2025 I purchased a word press account for $13. After the purchase it let me know that I would have a $13 credit to go towards customizing my domain name. I picked the address I wanted (wemeethereonline.com.one) on the page and column by the domain address I wanted it had a green $0 that I clicked to change domain name. I'm not sure what possibly happened on my end but it kept redirecting me back to the page that it had the plans on. I clicked in the "View Cart" area and it showed the $13 credit for the domain but when I went to complete the checkout, once again it directed back to the page with all the plans. The AI assistance didn't work, then it was passed on to a human and they were trying to get me to repurchase another domain name for $13. Then they were saying the $13 was supposed to be applied to changing the domain name. They didn't understand that I had a credit to change the name once. I'd been working on it for 3 hours. I also work graveyard and had been up for more than 24 hours and started getting frustrated and tired. I finally got to the end and once again entered the name change I wanted, then I mistakenly entered wemeethereonline.com.one/wordpress. That was a mistake. I was confused and tired at this point. I just want my domain to say wemeethereonline.com.one. Can it please be changed from your end. It's not allowing me to proceed without the WordPress tag on the domain name.

I just tried to publish a password-protected article, and had an all-too-typical Wordpress experience. I tried to create a new category. But when I tried to select a parent category, it just wouldn't select anything. Ok. I gave up on that. Then I tried to enter a password. I clicked the little eye icon to make sure I didn't misspell it. But then I couldn't submit it. I had to re-click "password protected", but then it blanked out my password, and I had to retype it. There is no way to see your password before submitting it. D'oh. And no, I do not want help with each of these bugs. I want competent product management that emphasizes prevention of bugs and usability errors. I want a reliable product that isn't obtrusively broken down or pointlessly changed ("improved") when I try to use it. I want to focus on what I'm writing, not on why Wordpress is once again failing to work properly. This product has spun entirely out of control. Weird, stupid bugs appear and disappear with each over-rushed release cycle. Of course, they catch and correct some of them, but they always create brand new bugs, so the thing never stabilizes and just works. If only Wordpress had started out sucking this badly, I wouldn't have committed to the platform. I'm almost angrier at early WordPress for being so spectacular and seducing me into the hopeless quagmire it has devolved into.

Leaving this review after being on Wordpress premium since June/July at 21 pounds per month and 8 for the year with my domain.. www.guitarenthusiast.co.uk Sadly I can’t give a good review at all and am currently considering a swap to Wix or one of the other website creators. I had 2 good weeks, my site was https (safe) for two weeks. I then noticed my site oddly said http on the app. I emailed them about this and the woman amazingly lied to me and told me it is definitely https and despite it saying it’s http (unsafe) it isn’t and not to worry. I then a month or so later went to my site on brave and it said it wouldn’t connect as it doesn’t support a safe https connection. I emailed them upset and like magic it changed to https before I woke up. I was upset the lady had lied to me a month prior, I found out all wordpress sites are https by default, as the AI told me the truth about that. So I sadly don’t believe it was http by accident. I also had major issues uploading videos, which is the only reason I’m paying. They would upload but would say VP video private when they weren’t private? And the thing that’s forced me to leave a bad review today is the fact I had a friend visit my page today and she said my videos again aren’t showing. I visit the page on my phone and they show and I can play them, but my friend who’d never been there visits it and it says videos private - when they aren’t set to private. I’ve emailed them about this but it has just been issue after issue. I thought I’d get some money off for a few months or some recommendations due to me paying 20 a month for a http site no one’s phones would visit but wasn’t offered any or given the months back. If your a business and not just a music page you would have lost a huge amount of custom due to this. I’m not a business so I’ve only lost money and views. This review will either fix things or make them worse as I sadly do not believe everyone’s site was https but my 21 pound a month site was accidentally http, I just don’t believe a mistake like that would happen when as they say ‘https by default’ well mine wasn’t for 3 or 4 months and when I asked about why it says that they bizarrely lied to me, which was upsetting when I later found that out. I honestly believe social media is far better for people wanting exposure in anything they are doing. As I pay 21 a month for 5 views a month and I now doubt anyone can even watch my videos like my friend today couldn’t. I will return and give another review in another 3 months as il soon be sharing my page on social media (I’m going to redo my page first) so will see how it goes when I start doing my own advertising. I get emails alerting me when people post pages on pages I’ve subscribed too but sadly I do not believe that people who have subscribed to me get emails when I post pages. I had a great normal 2 weeks then was made a http site where no videos upload and believe this was intentional censorship which is confusing as it’s a silly music blog and not anything criminal or controversial so I’m upset and confused and will soon look at other website sharing sites. It’s sad I’ve had to do this in the hope something may change as messaging support nothing changes. Good luck to everyone wanting to do a blog.

Heads up, content creators—we’ve been hard at work making some big changes to the Post Settings screen. - We added a “Status” field that helps you quickly move posts between draft, pending, private, scheduled, and published states. - We brought back the “Publish Date” area for draft and pending posts. That way you can pick a publish date ahead of time without officially scheduling the post. - The password field uses a different font (Menlo, if you’re interested) so it’s easier to read similar-looking characters. - Give your followers the VIP treatment by setting post access levels for all subscribers, paid subscribers, and the general public. - Toggle post comments and pingbacks on or off using the “Discussion” settings. While we were at it, we made several other helpful updates in various areas of the app. - On the “Publishing” screen, you can toggle “Email to Subscribers” to automatically notify your subscribers when a post is published. Start the presses. - The slug editor has a permalink preview to show what a post’s final URL will look like. - We added “Taxonomies” to Site Settings so you can manage your content groups at the site level. - Thanks to some design fixes in the “Categories” picker, it’s more obvious that you can pick multiple categories for a post. - File sizes are now visible in the Site Media Details area. No more guesswork.
