I wanted an iPad version (IOS) to bring a thick and wide “granular-like” feel to my IOS pads. Wow! Exactly what I expected from a Shimmer Reverb, and I have heard some very ineffective shimmer reverbs (most of them, actually), but this one is the best I have heard. It makes me feel like I am running through my laptop rig with Valhalla! Nice!

There are unique sounds to be made with this, it’s very configurable, easy to use and fun to mess with. The price is very reasonable, too. No significant update for a very long time, but perhaps that is because BLEASS consider this app perfect?

I put off buying this for a while as I didn’t think it was essential. Within 5 minutes of using it it had already become one of my favourite effects units. It sounds incredible and I now use it in every track.

On the plus side, the app does what it says on the tin. There are unique sounds, it is very configurable, easy to use and fun to mess with. The price is very reasonable, too. All these pluses gain 4 stars, the missing 5th star is because whatever I do ends up bright. Sometimes very bright indeed. That’s great for mixes where bright shimmer is desirable, but not so good when a more subtle approach is what you are after. Maybe the next update will fix this? Nic

I had assumed that this app worked through Audiobus or Inter-App Audio and that a window with the controls could be opened up over my GB projects through one of these avenues. In reality, you need to add BLEASS Shimmer under Plugins and EQ like you would any of the stock GB effects. I wish there was a one-page tutorial the first time you open the app that explained this, as there are now several ways to use different apps with GB. It’s confusing these days.
