Hive Camera

App no longer works.. server down yet again .. no response from centrica! No fix..

App will no longer connect to server and so will not open. Has rendered my cameras useless overnight. Keeps telling me that I should check my internet connection, works for everything else Hive! Shocking

Same error message again about Not being able to Login to the server. Check Internet connection - internet connection IS PERFECTLY OK. This happening every few months - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER 😡😡😡

I’ve just about given up here. This is the single most frustrating piece of tech and app I have ever used. It also doesn’t look like there are any plans to invest in the existing user experience, or develop new functionality in the app to keep up with competitors.

I’ve had this camera for a few years. Hive no longer seem to support it. The app is almost impossible to use now - I just changed broadband provider and it took me literally hours to get the camera/ app/ new router to talk to each other. The ‘instructions’ via the app were just, well... wrong! Also, I wanted to operate the camera via Alexa, but you can’t (old style cameras not supported) so as part of a smart home, it’s not very smart. Can only be used as a stand alone camera & app with no connectivity to anything else. A lot of money for what is now a nearly useless piece of kit. If Hive can’t support or keep up with the demands of their existing customers equipment, then they don’t deserve any custom. I feel ripped off and will never buy another Hive product again.

I think giving this particular app a 2 star rating is being generous. I have invested a lot of money in purchasing cameras for my home and still find myself getting frustrated every time I use this app. More often than not the app doesn’t work perfectly. 1) my login details keep disappearing (even though I save my details for auto login) and I have to keep on putting these back in, and a lot of the time I forget my username and password because I have so many to remember these days! 2) when I do manage to get on the connection is very poor. Every time I access each camera, it freezes and goes back to the room name set up, which is very annoying! 3) The resolution; Ive set up the resolution to be high quality, and it doesn’t seem to pick this up and becomes a low quality/ low resolution image because its can’t handle it. 4)cameras: these are bloody too expensive and should be half the cost! These are the main points I would like to make. Having the cameras is a great idea however I am disappointed with this my end because it doesn’t work the way I want it to, and probably could have got a better system for the same price. Can anyone get this to work. Can’t connect my camera at all and have been cut off from live chat twice. Wasted my money on original camera. Why can’t I connect the older style camera to my hive app - is it so I buy a massively over priced newer camera per chance? Would give zero if I could. Sort out your technology. I will give a updated review if anyone can sort this out, but won’t hold my breadth. Do you HIVE even read these. Got a response asking if I was using the Hive Camera App - YES, the review was about THAT APP - so still no useful help! AVOID

Got a camera, it worked fine for 3 months then stopped. Contacted hive only to be told that they won’t work with my sky router. So now I am lumbered with a£120 piece of plastic. Avoid hive at all costs Update after hours of talking to hive and updating my router no joy. Do not buy hive cameras they are not fit for purpose. Oh and they won’t refund anything even things that don’t work.
