So your 1st release was 11 months ago, and still the only app supported is your own? Nice idea, poor support.

I understand the appeal of wanting developers to natively support Stream Deck devices, but why no middle ground of at least allowing general hotkey binding/image customization and profiles? Opening general support like this would fuel more to purchase Stream Deck devices for iPad use, which would catch the attention of more developers incentivize them to implement native support for their apps versus the other way around. I have a different keypad I use for the iPad (Huion Keydial) that allows for general keybinding, so I know this is possible. I love the Stream Deck + on desktop, and the UI/utility/hardware is incredible! This all-or-nothing approach on iPad however is such a shame and an even bigger waste because so much utility could be gleamed from just allowing general shortcut key binding/image customization separated by profiles as a placeholder for your apps of choice until native support arrives for them. I will be the first to change this review to 5 stars if they make this app even slightly more flexible in that regard. There are SOO many animation apps on iPad that would sing with this device, just let me bing generic keys to it, PLEASE! 🙏🙏🙏

I was excited to discover the Stream Deck Connect app whilst browsing the App Store, as the prospect of integrating my iPad into my Stream Deck workflow held significant appeal. Unfortunately, my initial enthusiasm has been tempered by the app's current limitations. Despite installing and connecting successfully, I've discovered that none of the iPad applications I regularly utilise are currently supported or offer any discernible integration with the Stream Deck. To make this app a truly valuable tool for iPad users, I believe a significant expansion of supported applications and control functionalities is crucial. Focusing on common productivity and creative workflows would be a great starting point. I envision the following types of controls being incredibly beneficial, drawing parallels with typical PC usage: Fundamental Text Editing: The ability to execute basic commands like Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo, and Redo directly from the Stream Deck would drastically improve efficiency across various text-based apps (notes, documents, email clients, etc.). Presentation Software Control: For users who present from their iPads, dedicated buttons for Next Slide, Previous Slide, and the ability to Jump to a Specific Slide (perhaps through a pop-up number pad or a thumbnail overview triggered by a button) would be invaluable. Media and Creative Application Integration: Depending on the app, controls for basic lighting adjustments (brightness sliders, potentially colour temperature), timeline navigation (play/pause, skip forward/backward), tool selection in creative suites, or even basic transport controls for audio/video editing would significantly enhance workflows. Some social media integration would be a significant advantage 🚀. Functionality for popular iPad apps would be awesome. Whilst I understand that developing integrations for numerous apps takes time and effort, prioritising support for widely used iPadOS applications and implementing these fundamental control functionalities, alongside social media capabilities and popular app support, would dramatically increase the Stream Deck Connect app's utility and align it more closely with the expectations set by the Stream Deck ecosystem on desktop platforms. Currently, the app feels like it has the potential to be a powerful bridge between devices, but it sadly doesn't yet offer the practical functionality I, and likely many other users, were hoping for. One day, I sincerely hope this app will truly deliver on its promise of seamless integration and do what it says on the tin. Future updates addressing these limitations would be greatly appreciated and would finally unlock the true potential of iPad and Stream Deck integration.
