The COSMOTE CHRONOS application is a one-of-a-kind free mobile application for smartphones and tablets designed for the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. It combines the capabilities of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies with the capabilities of the 5G network to make exploring the archaeological site and learning its history immersive, realistic and fun. The application can be downloaded and used by anyone, anywhere! On the rock of the Acropolis, at home, in the school yard, in the park, whether they are in Greece or anywhere else in the world. Digitalisation of culturally significant monuments demonstrates the benefits of technology, enhances digital inclusion and so we conduce to create a better world, for all! 1. What does the COSMOTE CHRONOS app offer? • Νavigation through scientifically documented, 3D digital representations of specific monuments on the rock of the Acropolis of Athens and selected exhibits/views from the Acropolis Museum. • Navigation whether you are on the rock of the Acropolis or anywhere else, at home, at school, in the park, anywhere in Greece or the rest of the world. • Self-guided or interactive audio tours. • Tour through a real-time Q&A conversation with Clio, the first-ever digital tour guide of an archaeological site. 2. Tips for best performance • iOS device manufactured after 2018, with ARKit and iOS version 11.0 or higher. Latest version is recommended. • Use of the avatar (virtual assistant) Clio requirement: 5G network connection with a speed of 200 Mbps and a maximum ping rate (latency) of 40 ms. • Simple auto-guided tour requirement: 4G network connection or connect to a Wi-Fi network with a minimum required internet speed of 48 Mbps. • When you are in a noisy area, we recommend using the headphones of your device. • Make sure the place where you use AR is well lit. If you want to have lighting based on the sun's orbit, your position and the weather conditions, activate the artificial lighting button (+icon) that you will find during the AR experience.}

Selten eine so schlecht gemachte Museums App gesehen. Habe mehr erwartet. Man muss sehr viele mobile Daten verwenden.

Great idea with cool images but ultimately VERY annoying to use. Example, you have to find the information sign for the building first before it will launch the AR images. You switch to take a photo and the app needs to restart and you have to go back to the sign to get the app to work again. Plus ot takes forever to load

This app is really nice IF you can figure out how to make it work. Gives good audio descriptions and an Augmented reality view of what the sites looked like, which is cool. BUT you can’t take your own pics while app is open, and audio stops and while thing restarts when you close it. So it’s a big faff to use

Doesn’t work as it should. The mode “I’m elsewhere” is simply not available. Which genius had the idea that you have to scan signs onsite? Did you ever test your software and had an awesome customer experience? The Greek way of doing things obviously!

You need to scan the information panels at the site before you can use the app. But there is always like a million people before them so you have to wait a long time. And then when you try to scan the tables it tells you it can’t find it:) it’s just a waste of time

Panels are not recognized, the app is thus unusable.

The app downloads, and you are instructed to find a placard at different points on Acropolis hill , scan the placard. I found one & only one next to the Parthenon. Scanning it did nothing on multiple phones. Don’t waste your time

Eu fiz tudo direitinho, entrei, escaniei o mural para pegar informações, o chat que tinha não sabia coisa nenhuma. Uma porcaria.

The idea of having an interactive AR tour is good, however the implementation is bad. There is no introduction to the locations, all the time just “Welcome to the temple of XYZ” now ask me questions. But what to ask if you have nothing to start with. Also the system is not well trained and you have to rephrase your questions quite often to get an answer out of it.
