Spend less time studying and more time flying! This is the FAA Instrument Rating (IFR) version of GroundSchool, our FAA knowledge (written) test preparation featuring up-to-date questions, free updates, and illustrated explanations written by a professional team of pilot examiners and instructors. GroundSchool is fully compatible with FAA ACS (Airman Certification Standards) and our editorial team is working to keep it so as ACS continues to evolve. Don't be fooled by imitators! Competing apps herein the AppStore use only the limited set of questions that the FAA publicly releases via its website - that is not enough to adequately prepare you for your test! Our GroundSchool app, on the other hand, features a much more comprehensive database (typically about 2-4 times the size of the demo FAA public one) of actual and current FAA questions that you likely can and will be asked on the actual test! This along with our detailed, professional explanations and easy to use interface are major reasons why pilots have come to trust GroundSchool. Study actual, up-to-date FAA questions and then ACE your FAA Instrument Rating (and/or Instrument Ground/Flight Instructor) knowledge (written) test the easy way with GroundSchool FAA Knowledge Test Preparation software by Dauntless Aviation, the trusted leader in FAA written test preparation. Features: * Actual FAA Questions Current and Valid for Right Now. As soon as you install the software, use the 'update' feature and the software will connect to our servers, grab the latest questions, images, figures, and explanation content, and you'll be good to go. * Detailed Explanations written by an experienced editorial team of examiner and instructor pilots. * All Charts and Figures Included * Several flexible study modes - fits the way you want to study! * Compatible with all FAA "ground school" classroom-based courses This IFR version of GroundSchool will prepare you for any or all of the following tests: * IRA - Instrument Rating Airplane * IFP - Instrument Rating Foreign Pilot * IGI - Ground Instructor Instrument * IRH - Instrument Rating Helicopter * FII - Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane * FIH - Flight Instructor Instrument Helicopter * AIF - Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane (added rating) * HIF - Flight Instructor Instrument Helicopter (added rating) * Canadian Instrument Rating to USA FAA Conversion With Dauntless Aviation's GroundSchool, you don't need to worry: * Our material is UP TO DATE. No matter what date is listed here in regarding the 'Release date', this date refers to the program itself only. Once you get the program on your device, use the built-in update feature and it will connect to our servers and download the latest and greatest version of the test prep content and our explanations that we have available. To learn more about this, please visit our website. * Furthermore, you are welcome to update the material as often as you like. This means that even if you don't take your test soon, when do you, GroundSchool will be ready for you. Compare this to books or DVDs (which are going out of date from the moment they are printed). * We pride ourselves on the quality of our explanations. This is not some idle boast - our explanations are more detailed and more illustrated than that of ANY other FAA knowledge test provider, period. * Tens of thousands of people have used our products to prepare for their FAA knowledge tests. Ours is a system that works. Good luck on your test!}

Although I was able to pass, none of the questions in the Dauntless app were on the test. I should have used Sheppard

I enjoyed the question stacks and great explanations for each question. First I went through the entire question bank for each individual subject. Enabling question stacks will keep track of the questions you get wrong and it will keep asking them until you consistently get them right. After completing the entire bank of questions, I selected all of them and would do the 60 question practice tests. I did a lot of practice tests... Some questions on the real exam were worded differently, but dauntless taught me the material instead of brute memorization. Tips: -Save the test before you submit for grading, I had the app crash on me a couple of times. -Start with one subject at a time. -Go through the entire bank with each question graded immediately. -End with the 60 question practice tests. Good luck, you got this!

Use Sheppard Air. I have used both and there is no comparison. Sheppard gets my students ready much faster and results in much higher test scores. Dauntless' staff can be callous and difficult to access. They don't have a phone number to reach them with, and are generally slow to respond via email. The opposite is true with Sheppard.

I have tried to use other applications to help me study for various FAA tests but they would have outdated questions or it would only be a final test and not help with the preparation of the test. I believe that the work that was put into this app but all the other apps that they have made is extremely well thought out and done in a fashion that makes it easy for the user to customize what they need to study for and what they are having trouble remember for the test. They also have amazing customer support for any questions that you have or any problems you have with the app. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to study for an FAA test and be able to study anywhere at anytime.

Dauntless provides excellent test prep! After scoring 100% on the private pilot exam using their software, I knew that I would use their IFR prep as well. I just scored a 97%! They provide over one thousand practice questions. The questions cover all the topics and each question has an in depth explanation why the answer is correct, and just as importantly why the others are wrong. They support you learning the materials rather than memorizing correct answers. That makes all the difference when you take the actual exam and you come prepared for just about anything that might be asked. Lastly, the graphics in the explanations are very informative and help to understand complex topics like aerodynamics, flight planning and instrument failures. Great software!
