No agenda, balance that I’ve not seen elsewhere, the best puzzles section which challenges me every week, insightful sport, short or long enough articles to give you enough to make your own mind up.

It used to be a reasonable paper, but it has moved downmarket to compete with the likes of the Mail.

Why are we not allowed to comment on the articles you post? Even the Daily Telegraph allows everyone to comment on every article (except, of course, those which are about ongoing legal proceedings and police investigations). Is it that you believe that your subscribers cannot be trusted to hold the correct views?

The i has the best selection of online puzzles to be found anywhere, whether you prefer number, logic, word or image puzzles. However, despite the i's assertion that they do not support any particular political party, it is obvious from both the feature articles and especially the opinion pieces that the i is predominantly a leftist news source with an out and out hatred for the US president, dislike of Americans and grossly antisemitic. The so-called soft lifestyle articles range from the banal to the insipid to the quite frankly stupid. The one saving grace is that a reader can pick up what's happening in the country almost immediately as the i has a real time rolling news output. But the very worst thing is its opinion pieces.

As a new reader I find the reporting is often very negative with good news buried in the middle of the paper. The reporting appears to be strongly anti-government. Statistics are poorly reported with the sample number generally missing.

Whilst the i has some excellent writers like Ian Dunt and Patrick Cockburn, you can often tell in other articles that it’s a Rothermere paper. They will often give undue prominence to single polls giving the impression that Farage will be our next PM.

I was hoping for an ‘independent’ report of the London march. What you gave us was the accepted narrative about a relatively small turn out of racists and hate speech lunatics making a fuss about the growth of diversity. My wife and I are in our seventies and participated in the march, having driven up from Devon the night before. We had previously been on the 2003 Iraq march, and CND marches from the 70s onwards. What you didn’t say but should have, was that the march was made up of millions, not thousands (examine the drone footage). You might incidentally have asked why the police deliberately underestimate the numbers, it is worth investigation. Everyone we met was thoughtful and kind, quite touchingly so given our age! Nobody was in any way racist or aggressive. Apart from a few concerns about crowd crush dangers we felt safe and looked after. What I can report, which you clearly missed or deliberately ignored, was a change in attitude towards the Police. It was quite subtle but there seems to be a growing suspicion of our police force, this extended to all classes. Jeering and hissing. This I believe should be investigated. I find it most worrying that the trust that underpinned our ‘policing by consent’ philosophy, is breaking down. In summary you towed the ‘Tommy Robinson’ is an evil racist and missed the underlying significance of the political sea change that is underway. Yours Keith Ash
