Why would you have ambient listening feature that disables all other functions of the app? I was looking forward to turning on the ambient listening function then going through the chart with my patient. But alas, once the ambient listening function button is pushed, that’s the only thing you can do with the app. What’s the point?

Well, this Epic Super User is very disappointed in this product. In contrast I love the desktop app. This falls extremely short and almost appears to have been abandoned by Epic. I really wanted to use this for reviewing patient labs and refilling medications after work without having to open an entire laptop. As I go through labs and refills, I am missing all the normal quick actions, and vital info that help me make decisions and communicate to the patient. I cannot see a simple icon showing if they have an active MyChart account, when I last filled the med, or even when their next visit is with me. This effectively makes it worthless to me, and saves me no time. I find myself leaving most of the results and requests for when I get back to a functional view within the desktop application. I don’t see why this couldn’t be the exact same as the desktop application.

I use the jot feature every day in the hospital while rounding. I use it with the Apple Pencil, and it is amazing that it shows up live on Epic desktop. Please allow palm rejection and better writing tools. Otherwise, excellent app.

As an anesthesiologist, I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles, just a surgical list with access to patient chart, some mobile charting, and an inbox. Canto manages to miss all my needs. 1. The surgical list is today only. What if I want to look at tomorrow’s list, like Haiku? Denied. I use Canto at home after work. I usually don’t need to see today’s list, only tomorrow or later. Can’t do it…unless I stay up until after midnight, when tomorrow’s list becomes today’s. Haiku on a phone can look at other surgical dates, but Canto…Can’t. Strike one. 2. Patient chart is a complete mess of irrelevant items obscuring all that is important to actually help a patient. We all know that, so no strike for Canto. It’s just that Epic is a lousy record-keeper, and a great logistics system. Money matters, not people. Again, a system problem, not a Canto problem on its own. 3. Mobile charting. Canto allows attestation of presence while not being present. Convenient, but shady…half a strike. Can’t chart anything else despite all my anesthesia charting being button clicks and automations. That’s the other half strike….steeeerike two. 4. Inbox. Would be nice to be able to respond to inbox reminders with something other than shady attestations; i.e., chart that procedure I forgot to chart in the middle of a chaotic bloodbath. No can do. And that’s three strikes. Canto is batting .000 so far this season, as it has its entire career. Tip to Epic sales team, Canto could be renamed in a catchy, memorable marketing fashion. I suggest Can’t-o. Far more appropriate.

The engineers in Madison should be ashamed of themselves for producing an entirely useless app given the share of the market that epic has. Judy, you are a billionaire and very impressive, and epic has been great for healthcare around the world. Now please produce a useful iPad app. Thank you

Noticed that some activity slot options have lost the ability to modify anything within them. In particular, the “Status Board” activity defaults to the one set at the desktop - and ONLY the one at the desktop. Previously, you were able to switch Status Boards.

I use this app on a daily basis, for 10 hours a day as a physician. I especially LOVE the Jot feature with my Apple Pencil and iPad mini. Please refine the Jot feature more to allow selection of different eraser sizes. Otherwise, fantastic app!
