Intro to Aerodynamics
Description (

Wind Tunnel Simulation is an educational app designed for anyone interested in learning about aerodynamics. Whether you’re new to the concepts of lift and drag or curious about airflow, this app provides a simple way to see how air moves around objects. Key Features: - Flow Simulation: Observe airflow around 2D shapes at low Reynolds Numbers, illustrating basic airflow concepts. - Aerofoil Customization: Adjust parameters like camber, thickness, and angle of attack to see how shape affects airflow. - Force Visualization: View the distribution of forces like lift and drag across shapes to gain insight into aerodynamic principles. Wind Tunnel Simulation offers a practical introduction to aerodynamics through simulations and visuals. Solver accuracy will continue to be evaluated and improved over time. Have feedback or suggestions? We’d love to hear from you at support@thewtsapp.com or reach out on Bluesky at @thewtsapp.}

There’s no getting started guide or help that I can see. I just want to visualize airfoils at different angles of attack but that doesn’t seem to be possible as far as I can tell.

App was a lot more stable recently. Only thing I feel behaves strange in simulation is no coanda effect. Air doesn’t really stick to any surface. But sadly since last update crashes every time upon opening.

An easier way to manipulate the airflow or particles or whatever we are using, specifically to be able to speed it up. Maybe a simplified control? That’s literally my only complaint. I like that I can have multiple objects as well as manipulate them independently or as a group! It also shows me more advanced information that doesn’t make sense to a student but makes sense to me. I can place the sensor in different areas of the object which is amazing! I can show a student how lift changes as speed, or AoA changes, or anything else. Idk if it’s a bug, but at the moment, the airflow is really slow and when I increase the inlet speed, the app crashes above 3.0. Please help!!

• Fixed the issue of separators disappearing in the Aerofoil table upon selection.
1.3.0
Feb 04, 2025
• Added a zoom-out button to the analysis, sensor, and aerofoil sidebar panels. • Removed the sensor counter in the sensor sidebar panel. • Updated the positioning of the bottom buttons in the sensor sidebar panel. • Updated the asynchronous data flowing from the simulation to the app's UI. • Updated the algorithm for document saving and reading. • Updated the UI layout for the release notes screen. • Updated the sidebar table views with a custom selection gesture. • Updated the tint adjustment mode for the analysis and sensor sidebar panels when other views are presented on top. • Optimized data memory usage for the simulation. • Fixed the drawing for the aerofoil trailing edge's interior angle diagram. • Fixed the incorrect plotting data during the initial phase of inlet speed • Fixed the foil customization data flow that led to multiple foil editor instances. • Fixed the starting inlet speed that caused instability for thin aerofoil trailing edges.
