My Aurora Forecast is the best app for seeing the Northern Lights. Built with a sleek dark design, it appeals to both tourists and serious aurora watchers by telling you what you want to know - whether that is exactly how likely you are to see the aurora borealis or details about the solar winds and high-resolution sun imagery. With this app, you'll be seeing the Northern Lights in no time. - Find the current KP index and how likely you are to see the Northern Lights in the United States or the rest of the world. - View a list of the best locations to view from right now. - Map showing how strong the aurora is around the world, based on the SWPC ovation auroral forecast. - Free push notifications when auroral activity is expected to be high. - Forecasts for the next hour, several hours and several weeks so you can plan your Northern Lights viewing long in advance (subject to weather conditions). - Solar wind statistics and sun imagery. - View live aurora webcams from around the world. - Tour information so if you're considering to go to locations such as Iceland, Sweden, Finland or even Alaska or Canada, you'll be able to find tours that we can recommend to you. - Support for the latest iPhone and iPad models. - Completely free of charge for all functionality, no in-app purchases. If you want the latest updates on geomagnetic activity and enjoy viewing the aurora borealis, this app is right for you. This version is ad-supported and is similar to other apps such as Aurora Forecast., SpaceWeatherLive and hello aurora.}

I have used this app for years on different phones and it works great. My current phone seems to not have accurate location like my last iphone did. Maps has issues too so I think it’s the phone, but it still is useful when trying to figure out where mars is or about where the moon is. It’s fun too, and I like the music.

The Highest mountain is and always will be Denali.

The map mis-labels Denali as Mt McKinley. If the landmarks aren’t labeled correctly, it makes it hard to orient yourself on the map. I get that geography isn’t the main point here but it’s a pretty major mountain to get wrong.

The only thing I really wish is for the webcam feeds to be in some kind of consistent order. I switch between multiple apps while aurora chasing and when I come back to this screen the cams I’ve been watching are always moving around in the que or changing order so I have to scroll up and down trying to find the right one again. Can you make it so they are ordered alphabetically or by time zone or something?

Along with some other alert type apps that I have on my iPhone,(like the Weather Channel, Windy, and a great alert message app called Alertible), I downloaded this Aurora app (with text Alerts) onto my iPhone a few years ago and love it!! It has helped to enable me to view any possible Aurora’s up her in Vancouver B.C., and I was amazed at what fantastic pictures my iPhone camera was able to take of last Springs Northern light show!! My iPhone camera was actually able to see the Aurora better than my Mark-1 eyeball 👁️ in fact! Nice! Try it sometime! Anyway I always worry that we are going to get zapped with another Carrington event, and that we have not invested in our Power grids nearly enough to withstand a major Solar storm like that. I think myself that we should have already not have “cheaped-out” and had instead invested in having spare critical transformers right beside our existing ones for that rainy day sure to come sooner or later. These large custom transformers are said to take from 6 to 9 months to produce, and if (when) our grids all go down across the board at once we simply could not even survive anywhere near that long without a power grid! Scary, but I have seen estimates of a 90% or more population collapse (just one year later) if we had to try and go back to as it was like 200 years ago without electricity! Ug! Basically if we were to see the Northern lights down in places like Cuba or India like during the Carrington event I worry that our modern civilization itself would be at risk. They should perhaps do a (realistic and factual) Hollywood movie about this, imho, to bring more attention to this fact!
