The Drone Pilot Canada app allows Canadian drone pilots to easily meet Transport Canada’s procedural requirements under the 2019 Canadian RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) regulations. Drone Pilot Canada provides a simple map interface to help identify safe flying locations. It offers flight logging capabilities to record flight location and time, pilot and crew identification, the aircraft used, and weather at the time of the flight. Standard pre-flight checklists and procedures are built into the app and can be tailored by the user. Pilot and crew certification data can be managed directly in the app. Aircraft registration data and maintenance log recording is included. All user records can be exported from the tool into csv format for reporting or archival. Numerous other features make the Drone Pilot Canada app a simple one-stop-shop for meeting all Transport Canada procedural requirements for drone pilots in Canada.}

I just got this, and as of version 3.5 there is no syncing between devices. I switch between my iPhone and iPad a lot, so this is a fairly significant disappointment (considering the price), and I wish I knew about this before. There is a workaround, using the backup recovery feature but it is far from ideal and gets messy real quick. The option to have Syncing my data via iCloud would be tremendously useful!

This is a must have if you are a drone pilot. Everything is easy to use and understandable. Gives you all the info you need to fly safely. All in one app!

Drone Pilot app is worth its weight in gold. The app does it all, pinpoints your location, shows you the aerodromes and heliports around you, tap on the aerodrome and instantly get all the info about it. You can store documents in the app and much more. It’s my go to app for all my Drone flights. It’s well worth the one time cost of $60 CAD.

One small suggestion: Can you please add a field for operation temp range and max wind speed in the aircraft details section?

I have used this app for two years for all my flights and all the flight reviews I’ve conducted. It is amazing! Can’t imagine operating without it!

It contains lots of info but the UI is a bit clunky. A more refined look and feel would do wonders. Also the file input/output could be easier to use.

I’m new to drone and bought a mini 2 which is under 250g. I bought this app because it is recommended in Canada. I like it because it is up to date and tells you accurately. Another thing that I didn’t like is I wish it tells you what it mean when there’s abbreviation. The “TC” not really sure what that means. And when I click to DJI the yellow circle is gone. Also another one is deleting the air craft that I added into if I’m not sure about what to put and will put it later on to edit. I couldn’t edit my first one and I was going to add a serial number but turns out I have to create a new aircraft. I would give it more like a 3 but since it is up to date and has built in checklists and also has the option to “Create Flight Authorization” which is useful in the future.

All your permits, registrations, flight logs, notes, maintenance logs and much more can be stored on the app in case they are required. Checklists are ready to go, but can be changed or modified. App tutorials are available by YouTube videos. Easy access to aircraft weather and flight charts. If reading the reviews won’t convince you, watch the YouTube tutorials. Easy to use reference circles change from km to nautical miles with one long press. I’ve been using this app since before the Mini was invented! No regrets! Lawrence Kozakewich
