I can never get the app to update to reflect real time. So for short forecast I am stuck with information from an hour ago and it won’t refresh.

This app makes it really hard to set your location.

The app has not been updated in over an entire year, which makes it very outdated. The % on the top of the app for your chances of seeing the aurora are extremely inaccurate. The long term forecast does not predict accurate predictions. This app has the right idea, but desperately needs an update, better design and far better accuracy, even if that means a pay to use subscription service.

This is my go to app to see what the KP index is looking like, Bz… and what the forecast is looking like. The only minor suggestion is the graphs are really hard to pinch and zoom in on because then you can’t see the axis on the left.

Intermittent problem with the “Northern Lights” app. The application won’t stay open. It closes immediately. I’ve tried to delete & reinstall the app & unfortunately, it still isn’t functioning. Very disappointing.

Great app, but I keep getting alerts at least every freaking hour when there is a slight chance to see the Aurora. I have set it to notify me at KP6 but I get alerts at 3... Today I was notified it would be a 100% chance at KP5. Not even the camera could pick up a tiny bit of the northern light. Other times I can see the Aurora when the app only predict KP4 at 20%...

UPDATE: This app, as of Feb 2025 has become unworthy of a price tag. Notifications literally don’t function in any productive way. Alerts constantly for conditions clearly not conducive to aurora, and then no alert when conditions are right. Handy for the current oval. That’s about it these days. Don’t part with money for this app. ————————— Used to be excellent, but in the past year appears to be no longer maintained. Fully paid but the only alerts I get are random, outside the parameters set, and when there is no chance of aurora. No alert comes anymore when there is aurora. Missed a big one last night. No alert. The map has been stuck on daytime for a few days. The whole thing feels like an abandoned ship really. Not sure if this is still a functional app.
