EMA Add-On is a companion application to EMA by Modernizing Medicine. It provides our Users with additional functionality that is sometimes necessary for proper usage. Please note that EMA can only be used in conjunction with a subscription-based Web Application Service. Modernizing Medicine introduces the first native iPad application designed for medical surgical specialities — EMA by Modernizing medicine for iPad. Each relevant part of the visit can be recorded in real time by the patients in the waiting room and by the medical assistants, physician extenders, or physicians in the exam room. At the end of each patient visit, data is transmitted back to the server automating documentation without costing the doctor a second.}

The new office flow update and layout have been a major inconvenience. Patients are no longer automatically linked to their providers unless the visit for that day is linked or created. In a practice with multiple providers, this means you have to manually review the entire schedule and locate your patients to ensure that the filters function correctly and display under the appropriate providers. This is a significant oversight by the developers. Please revert to the old layout and functionality of the office flow.

My derm practice has been with ModMed for 10 years. The support has deteriorated tremendously during that time. Tickets for issues we’ve had have languished for months without resolution. And, yep, they want their 8% annual increase with no ability to lock in a rate. My partners and I wish we’d stuck with pen and paper. Even with the penalties we’d incur for MIPS, we’d still be far ahead financially with the ability to see more patients and less the tremendous cost of this EHR.

Modmed has poor communication with your practice once they sign you on for a year and get your money. They lack technical support that has knowledge of your practice. Many times with technical assist it takes over 24 hours to get back to you on your question (problem) and then are told “we will get back to you”because they can not answer the question. We get multiple answers, with only one being correct, on multiple problems. The best session we had was with a doctor who is practicing, and we had to schedule weeks in advance and were given 30 min because he was busy.

Not at all what was sold. Fragmented and not as efficient as was expected. In carrying on the tradition from their prior EMR platform multiple hiccups and continual fixes.

It is so unfortunate. There are so many glitches that you have to deal with, every patient, every day, every week, that never get fixed, costing you hours and hours per day, pulling your hair out, just won’t fix. Tech-support will admit and express don’t understand how this happened, but getting it fixed just never gets done. When you’re trapped your accounts receivable or in this program and you can’t quit. Worst part of the whole thing is they are the most expensive their wrist.. EMR’s that are less than half the price and are five times faster, more versatile and more accurate. Very disappointing.

After 10 years of use I have not seen any EMR better for ophthalmology.

This app could truly be the best EMR available if they would take the time to listen to the requests of the countless orthopedic and neurological surgeons who use it. there are basic features of the app that would apply to every user, that need improvement (some are simple… the save feature at the bottom often activates the iPad Home Screen line). The app also needs keyword searches for diagnoses and not just the exact word match that it currently requires… there are countless ways this app could be better if only the developers would listen to the users and respond far more quickly.

No one LOVES there EMR, but I have to admit that I do really like ours (ModMed). From the standpoint of a physician, it has the best user interface and is SO much faster for getting my notes done than any of the systems we have used in the past. (I'm an ENT physician). I can't speak to the practice Management part of the system since I am not involved with that. No system is perfect, and one must accept that with any EMR, but I am happier using this one than any I've used previously and I do recommend it.
