The Australian is little more than the Murdoch empire’s far-right-tinged “news” and opinion specially bottled for the gullible Aussie audience. We first subscribed to the Australian back in the 1970s and it didn’t take us long to work out the overall spin being put on everything. Little has changed - if anything, it’s become worse, especially with the advent of Trumpism. Don’t say you weren’t warned!

Comments critical of vaccines, the questionable policy of puberty blockers on young kids, the ALP’s open borders policy etc - all current real issues - are rejected. Are the moderators all ex ABC/Fairfax journos? Times are changing rapidly, and the newspaper must be more aware of community thoughts on such issues.

I have recently been repeatedly told I must link to subscription in order to like or comment. This is a problem as I have never unlinked from subscription and there is no information about how this is to be done.

I often have comments not approved (25%), I assume to avoid upsetting your more sensitive and woke readers. If someone else’s comment can mention no wheels from our Indigenous, why can’t I then mention no spokes from such wheels? As you know, taking an idea further can often highlight the flaws in that idea. If your excellent articles must sometimes draw back from provoking legal or other attacks, then surely Comments should be able to nibble at the fringes of caution. The Australian is a wonderful newspaper: its Comments section reinforces its excellence. Be more tolerant and trusting of those taking the effort to express their opinions. They are the tiny tip of the iceberg of public opinion. Thank you

Some of the reporting not much better than the local daily papers and getting very selective on comments that are allowed to be published by readers.

I can only give one star because that is the lowest I can go. I am asked to “link my subscription to The Australian to make a comment on a story“. Apart from being unbelievable, it’s excruciatingly frustrating.

apart from poor app functionality, content is just the usual interchangeable Murdoch propaganda

Every so often clicking on an article opens it then it freezes requiring complete removal of the app and reinstalling.
