The best and most accurate app for Cuckoo and Pendulum clocks calibration. Easily measure your Clock beats period and adjust it to a known correct value. Turn your iPhone into a precise train count sensor with an unbelievable 0.001 milliseconds (1μs) accuracy!! Get a quick and precise drift reading of how many seconds/minutes your clock is going to gain or loose per day. Every Cuckoo Clock owner knows that a mechanical clocks are not as accurate as modern day quartz clocks. This is because the clock mechanism is influenced by temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, breeze and others environmental conditions and therefore requires frequent adjustment. When you are regulating the pendulum of your Cuckoo Clock today, you are attempting to achieve the best timekeeping possible by a trail and error method by lifting the pendulum bob up or down and hope for a better accuracy. Using this app you can finally get a reading of your Clock ticks timing and precisely calibrate it to a known value. How to calibrate your Clock using this app: 1. Run this App and measure your Clock timings using the iPhone microphone 2. Use the Signal Gain and the Detection Threshold sliders to adjust the measured signal 3. Select a reference timing for calibration from the clock reference table or set your own reference timing 4. Read the accuracy level of your clock vs. the reference timing 5. Adjust your Clock pendulum bob to get the best accuracy! 6. Review how many seconds/minutes your Clock will gain or lose per day based on your current calibration The app will presents your Clock beats period reading as well as BPH (beats per hour) and BPM (beats per minutes) values. An accurate waveform display of the microphone signal will help you to adjust the tick readings for the best measurement. Animated Indicators will guide you through the calibration process. Manage the app Reference Timings table and add user defined clocks in addition to the predefined ones to support all your clocks. This app will turn your iPhone into a powerful measurement tool which normally costs hundreds of dollars.}

Got this to calibrate a few old stopwatches and clocks. It works super well. Gives instant readings of accuracy instead of just long winded trial and error. It’s important to get the gain and threshold set right plus phone positioning relative to timepieces. Quiet environment helps also. It simply listens to the tick tock then gives you the data you need. Fantastic app. Thanks.

Ok, I run a clock repair business ( side hustle) I could buy a MicroSet for £500 but this little app tells me the period of the escapement, BPM, BPH and also lets you know what the time keeping is. My Only question is to the designer of the app, I’m using an IPhone 16, and tried to connect an external microphone , but it wouldn’t work with the app, so can you use an external microphone with this app or not ? Balancing my iPhone on top of a longcase clock isn’t best practice, please let me know

This app makes putting a cuckoo clock in time so easy. Everyone who owned a cuckoo clock should have this app.

This app is nearly perfect. It is sensitive and allows you to set the gain and detection threshold to overcome room noise. Only 2 things that would improve it: 1) Plot the period over a few minutes to see the stability of the escapement 2) Allow reference periods over 1 second, my buco clock has a target period (half swing) of 1125 milliseconds, and a full return to start period of 2250 ms, with 25 pins on the escapement wheel.

Used app to even out the tick on a church clock. Shows up as percentage level. So easy to use. My only slight grumble is the font for the level text could be bigger. These ancient eyes struggled to read the print inside the little icon. Thanks all the same.

My clock wasn’t hanging completely straight, causing it to stop sometimes. I found that correcting it by ear was frustrating. With the measurements of the app, it was a piece of cake, thank you!

Waste of money. I’ve tried it many times on different clocks, you get it saying it’s nearly perfect and the next day it’s ten minutes fast or slow or whatever. Doesn’t work at all

As a test I went round all my modern battery clocks and the tick consistently on all of them is perfect. I’m trying to diagnose what’s going on with my old mantle clock to try and decide if I can sort out the problem myself. I’m finding my readings are inconsistent and range from around 80% level up to 97% level over about 28 seconds. This cycle repeats over and over. I notice the ticks get quieter when the percentage drops suddenly. I’m wondering if you have ever thought of including a record or logging function so I could post my results to a forum for others to view. They could play my recording back in their copy of the app? Just a thought. Great program just the way it is Well done!

This is a great app for regulating a mechanical clock…not just cuckoo clocks, as the name would suggest! You do need to find out the proper beat frequency of the clock movement you’re trying to regulate (usually 60 BPM for grandfather clocks, but varies widely for other clocks). I have three requests that would make the app perfect for me: —please allow a frequency of 60.000 BPM! I don’t know why the app doesn’t allow this. I use 60.001 BPM for my grandfather clocks, which is close enough, but it’s kind of annoying to have to do so. —you should really repackage/rename this app to be for all mechanical clocks, not just cuckoo clocks. The cuckoo clock animation is cute, but I think more people would purchase the app if it were clear that this can be used for all mechanical clocks —it would be wonderful if the app would save the data once a measurement is completed. Making a slight noise to pick up the phone or to take a screenshot completely disrupts the completed measurement, and it disappears. Thanks for a great app!
