Demolition Derby - CrashOut

It’s a very good game and I love it. Problem is that every time you go back to the menu an ad plays.

I’ve always been searching for a good demolition derby game, and I’ve slowly grown a collection of them over the months but they all fall short, and that unfortunately includes this game. Even though this is an improvement from RCC and definitely one of the best of this genre it is still far from being good. This is what the game lacks in and it’s features that can be further tapped into. The game includes an enormous map, so huge it had to be split into 4 segments, which is impressive. Even more so, the map is fully interactive, trees splinter, bushes rustle with leaves, porta-potties scream. The graphics look fine, great but lack the proper atmosphere that conveys a die-hard derby game. What I feel will help out is firstly making the cars respond to changes in lighting and shadows. RCC had both a darker area under the car and naturally made shadows, making it more realistic. I can’t see why that can’t be applied here, the vehicle becoming lighter and darker depending on light conditions better immerses the car in the landscape and be a part of the map effectively. There are already echoes whenever you drive into an enclosed space, so so the car being the same shade as the land only makes sense. Racing, feels more like trailblazing, following a set path with checkpoints. This is fine, but I would also like having specific tracks to race in too. A bigger racing grid is always welcome, as just 3 opponents is kinda lame. More racers=more exciting=more fun👍❤️. A replay function will also be cool, an opportunity to use the “cinematic cam” because it isn’t practical when racing, as you can barely see where you’re going. A more dramatic camera will also keep you interested in the race more too. A vibrating cam when you drive and motion blur like in the trailer helps create a sense of action and thriller and once again, ✨excitement✨ The derby was what impressed me, because you can have up to SEVEN cars at any time. This is a vast step-up from just 4 in RCC❤️‍🩹 however it is a bit too short even for me, so I suggest an including a deathmatch to stretch out the fun a bit more. What baffled me was the fact that there are only THREE arenas to play in! I am appalled. That won’t be captivating for very long at all! There are millions more empty spaces in the map so I request using them. The way obstacles react when you hit or even touch them is hilarious, being yeeted right up into the air. It looks super unpolished, but it’s very funny too. I would be lying if I said I liked the vehicle selection. There are already 2 paid models out of just 12 cars, and these are almost identical to each other. Apart from one or 2, the rest have the same interior, engine, suspension, and sightings in other unity games🌚. The least you could do to these cars is give them a different engine and interior. Literally the ONE type of car I was expecting in a derby game isn’t even inside!💔 Classic old beaters are the cornerstone of derbies, not modern hatchbacks, so not having a single one is a crime. they definitely deserve a spot in crashout because they are king🧠🤯. One thing I love about the cars though, is the paint, the way light reflects and captures each scrape, speck of dirt and rust is peak and the perfect example of unity being used at its finest. However these cars are nowhere near derby themed. Some have rollcages and the rest have a spray paint job, and that’s it. Can you afford to strip out the interior and passenger seats? Or give the cars a more junkyard feel? Crack and shatter the windows, add dents and miscolour the panels, make the wheels dirtier, weld metal pieces to the doors and make the inside of the car gross. Anything that screams: “DERBYYY!!!” The damage model is mid, there is deformation, glass breaks, scratches happen but nothing to write home about. I hate that the rigid body is still there. I know it’s necessary but please make it do anything but retain the original shape of the car, same for RCC. Sharper deformation with a clearer dent in a more specific area will make damage more realistic, rather than make the car look slightly misshapen. Also make it unlimited, so the car can deform outside its original frame like RCC used to do, because it’s make the damage look more extreme and fun. One funny thing I noticed was the smoke billowing out of the car. It kinda responds to gravity but also doesn’t react to physics. It always remains perpendicular to the engine, which is a bit unreal. A trail of smoke is more feasible, once again, same for RCC🤦. Another thing related to smoke is fire, which in this case is anything but😭. The fire feels like more of an afterthought, and there is barely any feeling of danger when your engine is ablaze. It’s like it’s not even there. There is some attempt at acknowledging its presence, save the dancing orange reflection that can be seen once in a blue moon. Fire glows, so make it. It also produces light, so it should light up the surrounding area along with the car. Make its presence known, make it concern the driver, make it light up the caves, make it burn the engine to a crisp. Same for explosions, they should launch other cars away from the blast and maybe cause another scream from the potty. This game has so much, yet not enough. It has plenty of potential to become the next flatout or even Wreckfest, but it has a long journey to go, one with a lot of racing, derbies and crash outs. Aight gimmie my van now.

The game is super fun. I love it. It has just hit me. The spot is also one of my favorite car crash games.

So good to experience real damage in a car. And I like it but doesn't give me the van.

I’ve only played it for about a few minutes but I’m enjoying it so far
