OMRON HealthDirection

The App Privacy report says that “The developer does not collect any data” about you from this app. Yet the very first thing it does when started is to ask me to sign in or create an account. If that’s not collecting data, what is? I just want something that copies the readings from my Omron BP monitor to Apple Health, period. No accounts, no tracking, no fuss. Is that really so much to ask? I’ve had discussions about this with Omron’s developers in the past, and hoped that this new app would be a privacy-friendly answer to the unacceptably nosy and intrusive Omron Connect app. Clearly they’ve learned nothing. Deleted.

Why can’t I use this very expensive OmRon device without consenting to sharing my personally identifiable health data with OmRon, it’s partners, studies and seemingly anyone else OmRon chooses?

I am happy that I have a machine that can chart my journey into monitoring my blood pressure; because, it was a pain to write it down; but now all I have to do is record it and send it to the Bluetooth. thank you so much

my omron 5450 " platinum " sphygmomanometer, refused to bluetooth pair with my iphone 11 pro max. i upgraded my iphone 11 to iphone 12, @ ios version 14.4 and now bluetooth sync works for me. i have started transitioning from an Omron BP monitor to a "withings (bpm) "connect 54." the Omron Health Direction app is ok, but i strongly prefer the Withings healthmate app & the Withings physical BP machine. i'm guessing that Omron didn't see Apple as a commercially appealing healthcare industry partner; maybe Withings did. i just noticed Leah's comment about Omron's subscription requirement. i don't recall needed to pay a subscription fee to Withings, but as always, "your mileage (experience) may vary."

I buy your device, now in order to use it I have to pay monthly. No thanks, fastest return I’ve done in a long time.

I’ve had Omron devices since before they started having devices that sync with apps. Unfortunately, my old device met with gravity and the screen broke. I just purchased a new device, and it wouldn’t pair with the older app, so I downloaded this one. To my surprise, Omron now requires (on this app -the only one that connects to my new device) a $9.99/month subscription. This is ridiculous. I’m disappointed and, frankly, angered that Omron is now taking advantage of their customers with “new features” that used to be free. I’m going to try and return my new cuff simply, because I no longer have any product loyalty to their company.

After using it for several days, I find this app to be highly inadequate. First, it won’t connect my OMRON blood pressure monitor device. Even worst, I lost this connection with my other OMRON app that I was using previously. Now I have to enter my blood pressure manually. This app does not read other data from other health app even when I configured it to read other data from Apple Health such as data from my weight and BMI device as well as fitness activities. This app is so frustrating to use and the company is asking for a premium to its other features? Not worth and definitely not recommended. It seems like they want you to buy their own OMRON devices for it to work by up-selling or cross-selling.

Great app for tracking my blood pressure and my medication with a Smart Cap! If you take tracking your health data seriously, this is the app for you!
