Shows phone usage even when the phone is not use. Music through Bluetooth shows up as Phone use. Hard brakes are also many times incorrect. The map should display where the hard breaking or phone usage happened similar to Geico app.

I’ve tried multiple times to get the snapshot for my car. Tried downloading the app multiple times to see if I could get it to work. Every time I put my phone number in it says “the server has returned an unknown error” or something like that. Very frustrated.

I’m leaving progressive so here’s my experience with this hot garbage pile of an app: The app is so bad it’s not worth the discount. Cruise control at the speed limit? Nope the app thinks you’re speeding. The inconsistencies in gps tracking lead this app to think you are going faster than you actually are. Phone falls onto the ground in the car? Oh you must have been in a wreck let me call 911!

After 3 days of use while driving my Honda crv sport touring hybrid, no trip are recorded even though I made sure Background App Refresh is enabled. I would rather use the actual physical device instead but The device is not available in North Carolina Signed frustrated

I have had Snapshot on my phone since February 2023. I just found out today that any movement in the car or any notifications including those from ring doorbells and other forms of notification that cause the screen to go on even if you were not touching the phone, will count against you, because any time the screen goes on, it counts as if you are manipulating the phone. I called progressive about this and find this unacceptable. They do not have a software solution for this. My advice, if you are forced to use this app, turn other notifications off, except absolutely essential ones. Because anytime a notification makes the screen go on, it will count against you and you don’t want to get billed at a higher rate because it is showing that you are using your phone when you are clearly not. This also applies to the phone being in motion and obviously, in the car, the phone is in motion. So I would have to give this app a one star rating based on my experience. I would give it zero if I could.

So I’ve had the app for about a year and have had constant issues with it for no apparent reason. They really need to add a chat option, I don’t really enjoy calling in for them to tell me there is no issue and then my app will magically work again a few days later. Now, it’s saying I can’t login and that I don’t have a policy, which is incorrect. This was a big part of why I signed up for progressive originally because I drive like once a week and wanted a discount for how little I drive.

Love the Snapshot program and the general idea (savings, etc), but this app has now bugged out 3 times on me saying “We are no longer tracking and you have completed the program” - which is not true as I have only had it for about a month. I fix it by re-downloading, but this issue shouldn’t arise in the first place.

The app is constantly giving me phone usage time and I never use my phone when driving. The hard braking and acceleration seem accurate but the phone usage category is a joke.

The reviews on the accuracy issues with hard braking are accurate. It will register an “event” in so many cases where there shouldn’t be one. But my main pain point is that the app regularly just stops tracking you. And when you open the app, it says that Progressive is all done and the app can be deleted. But then you get an email a few days later telling you to check the app because they haven’t gotten an update in 15 days. So you have to delete the app and reinstall and re-set it up. This is nearly monthly and happens with all three drivers in our house.
