LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the exam environment within specific learning and assessment systems. When LockDown Browser is used during an online exam, you are unable to go to other URLs, switch applications, take screenshots, copy questions or print. It essentially locks you into the exam until it’s submitted for grading. Important: This application can only be used with the Respondus Monitor proctoring system if your instructor has enabled the use of an iPad for the exam. If your instructor hasn't enabled the use of an iPad for the exam, you will be unable to use this application with it. While LockDown Browser isn’t the most exciting app available, it does make online assessments possible. And, hey, you can download it for free. This is NOT a limited-feature version and there are NO advertisements of any type.}

This app genuinely looks like some sort of scam app that is going to download malware onto my IOS device. Also you can’t use it with the Canvas app downloaded to your device because it auto redirects to the canvas app and there is no way to prevent that so the only option is to delete the canvas app. Terrible app.

In sooth, I must recount my grievous encounter with a most ill-favoured contraption styling itself the “Lockdown” app, a digital instrument so poorly wrought that it did ensnare my humble tablet as though it were a hapless insect caught within a spider’s web. No sooner had I engaged its services than the device became stiff and unresponsive, as if bewitched by some malevolent force, leaving me to ponder whether I had unwittingly welcomed a mischievous gremlin into my parlour. Its conduct bore all the hallmarks of a pernicious nuisance, vexing my patience and affronting my sensibilities, and I daresay no gentleperson of refinement should subject their valued apparatus to such indignities.

Most of the time, when I use this app and I am in the middle of taking my test, it just freezes up, I was not able to use my device for the whole day because it was just frozen.

I won’t lie, I was SCARED to download this app based on the reviews I was reading. However, I was backed into a corner at 10pm, with an online test due at midnight. I took a chance and downloaded it, absolutely shaking in my boots. To my surprise, I had absolutely no issues. I read, and re-read what were short and sweet instructions, and everything went smoothly. I took my test, the lockdown browser ceased when I hit submit, and I immediately deleted the app out of fear for good measure🌝

This breached and hacked my iPad now it’s fixed but when I open this app it stays locked on till the battery drains speaking of that the battery drains so fast freak u freak u🥭🥀

Many of the one star reviews on here explain that this app totally ruins your ipad, this is not true however. If you use the app as intended and follow the instructions on the testing app, you will be just fine. After taking my test I simply clicked ‘exit’ and my ipad was no longer in lockdown.

You should just get a laptop if your school requires this service. Does not prompt enabling of lockdown mode and wont let you take the tests
